What the other person said about the drugs is true. Cocain comes from the cocoa plant and guess where it grows? S. America. Their "gods" don't exist, tho. given all the blood sacrifices they were probably worshipping demons. However u could argue that the blood sacrifice was a bad interpretation of the Sacrifice of the Lamb (i.e. Jesus).
In the Last Battle by C.S. Lewis there is a teenager from the bad side who was worshipping something like an Aztec god but as he held to all the principles of faithfulness, love & hard work etc. Aslan judged that all his actions were actually in the currency of The Emperor Over the Sea. I.e someone could have no knowledge of the LORD but still live by the commands of the Torah and thus would be judged by the standards they set for themselves. (P.S. this biblically backed up in the N.T. but i can't remeber where - i think it's Paul's stuff)

I suspect that all people at all times communicate with God, although we tend not to notice precisely what we are doing, when we do it. As for the gods, we merely need to take note of the fact that the wind blows, the waves of the sea undulate, the clouds rain, etc...If you can speak that language, then I suppose you too can talk with the gods. And why not? We can understand when a dog is angry or scared, so how is it that we can fail to understand the moods of the sea, the air, etc...I suppose the question remains though, can we influence them by our capacity to communicate back? Well, if the whole communication thing is true, which I have no problem believing, then don't we automatically communicate with them by our actions? After all, if global warming is happening as a reaction to our actions, is that not the earth, responding to us, 'passing judgement' on our lifestyles? Is not some communication occuring? Anyways, the whole idea of communication becomes a bit more obviously true, if you are willing to accomodate a wider notion of 'god' (i.e., the personality of a force of nature) and a wider notion of 'communication' (i.e., the phenomenological mood of a force of nature).
I hope the above has been helpful.

They probably could.Magic still exists. It comes from satan and his demons. You can communicate with stone gods all you like. The tricky part is to get them to communicate back.If they do you would be in serious trouble for satan will take the opportunity to mislead yet another soul. The Aztec will also be judged on Judgement day but only on what they knew at the time. You on the other hand will be judged on what you did since you have heard the Truth.Do not dabble with magic and the beliefs of old extinct civilizations

The aztecs did more drugs than any rapper out there today. They probably thought that they could do anything, including talking to gods. Seeing that only one God exists, i would guess not.

Everyone in every culture has the capacity to communicate with the gods. Most people just don't believe or are brainwashed into thinking only certain people (priests, popes) are allowed.

could be possible. I cannot prove that I was indeed magic, and I cannot prove that they had only one god but I know that every nation found a sense in belief.
You can believe that the grass is white. why? because you choose to do that. You just believe and this makes you feel better and be wide-opened to everything new and inclusive happiness.
now, you are free to believe...

Yes, the same way people communicate with God today. The only difference is that we know there is only one God. In ancient civilizations, they believed a separate God ruled each event or happening.
