Ask your vet about flea control in a pill taken 1x a month.I dont remember the name. Also make sure the environment is free of fleas. Spray your house and yard.

This is something that is very simple yet complicated. There is a Fles newborn called parasite. It burrows into the skin of the dog and make its diffcult to get out. The dog will scratch and scratch until he or she bleeds. Nothing can be done early that can remedy this problem becasue the dog has become infested. The worst problem is when the infestation drops flea eggs on your carpet of the parasites and then now you have a much bigger problem. They will get on you at home. When an outbreak infestation occures you have to spray your entire house down with a chemical from your local pesticide to kill the eggs from returning back and re-infesting. Once you do that then you can remedy the outbreak...meanwhile your dog still has new borns under the skin. Treat your dog and oen him up keep him isolated and spray around the kennel area until you have completley wiped them all out. You may also spray your yard as well. An infestation is rare, but most vetenarians wont' give you all the do's and dont's because they want the money. So you have heard it from the horses mouth today. If you do as I told you to you will cure your dog and your infestation. This outbreak is very seriuous the prasatie can only be seen by a micrscope and when they bite you they leave little red bumps on your boy. It gest nasty man I'm serious here and this is no joke. I am trying\ to help you completely rid your home of the infestation and this is the only way to do it.

My grandparents had dogs for year - hunting hounds (outdoor animals) and lap dogs (indoor dogs) - fleas were never a big problem because Grandma always put a dash of vinegar in the drinking water. Obviously it was never much - or the dog wouldn't drink it! For starters try 1/4 teaspoon white vinegar to 2 cups cold water. Grandma explained it as, "the vinegar makes the doggie taste bad to the flea, so the fleas move along."
Personally, with all of my dogs I've used Sentinel (heart worm/ flea combination) during the summer months and never had any trouble with fleas. If the cats get fleas, they get a dose of "Zodiac"

Change to Advantage. there is also Capstar, a pill you can give them each week. It removes fleas/ticks immediately, this way the cycle stops and maybe the Frontline will work. If the dog spends time outside, the grass must be treated also. He may have become immune to Frontline.

The pill that the other person was talking about is Sentinal mostly for heart worm. With that pill it will kill the eges so flea's eges can't hatch. But they can still jump on your dog.

I have used Freedom 45 on my dogs that has been working for me. You can order that in from KV Vet supply just typ it in on yahoo.

Try regularly feeding him garlice. ground garlic, Fresh ground garlic is best. but you need to feed it in his food everyday. Fleas and ticks dont like the tast of the garlic. and hence no fleas or ticks just a garlic smellin pooch. GOOD LUCK!!

Don't use Hartz anything first. Too many chemicals. Try K9 Advantex. Worked on my dogs when everything else failed. You must treat the house and the yard and vaccum alot.
