So what regular drive maintenance do you do (and how often?)

What happens if there's something wrong (directory, etc.) - what tools do you use?
And short of sending the drive off to a recovery group, what do you use to recover the information?
I'm also interested in any SCSI/Raid tools as well.

Defrag, scan, and backup
defrag once a month
scandisk weekly
backup daily
Reload the whole freaking thing twice a year!

get a program called tune-up utilities. Uber program! It pretty much does almost anything as far as cleaning. I'd run a defrag about once a week, depending on how much deleting/adding you do. Spyware checks using Spybot Search and Destroy, or Adaware.

i delete my Temp folder every 2-3hours.

n simple n best tool to chek or recover ur files is `chdksk `commnads with various parameter.

use windirstat (link below). It gives u a visual picture of how your hard drive is being used.
