Been to Marmaris a few years ago. It was nice and clean. There are lots of bars and restaurants, keep away from the usual sea front places, they try to lure you in. Go and have a wander around the back streets, there are some lovely places to eat and drink. You MUST go and have a turkish bath, I recommend the municipal baths in the middle of turkey, lovely. Remember to keep your bikini on, as they don't like women who show too much flesh. Take a look around the undercover market, lots of bargains to be had, as well as beautiful turkish delight!! Catch a boat trip for the day, lots of alcohol included in the price, as well as your dinner for about a tenner each. Catch a boat taxi to the nearby market on sunday. Hire a moped and go and see the sights, but wear a crash helmet, otherwise you will be stopped by the police (I found that one out- oops). Above all, have fun, and respect their laws and customs.
