The excuse most people use is that it is murder. However, if having the baby was going to kill the mother would you condem her for not sacrificing herself? Also why do religious people say that a murderer will "burn in hell" and then say that God forgives and died for our sins?

They want to stone a woman to death for commiting adultry (110 or so years ago) and got pissed off because a woman can now "hide" it from their wrath.

Don't be too quick yourself to judge people who think abortion is wrong. There are many people who feel abortion is a moral evil, but can certainly relate to how a poor woman may be driven to that decision. It's not that hard to figure out why some people feel abortion is wrong. They look at their own children and realize that if they had been aborted, those little lives would not have had a chance to be something. And this viewpoint isn't limited to just religious people.

It seems to me that you are battling more with sanctimonious religiosity that many religious people have. Since you're asking questions, I would suggest that you pursue your own study of what God says than what some religious person who may or may not have an agenda says. If you believe God made the world in six days and then took a day off, I don't think it would be that difficult for God to let you know His opinion on something.

Okay, I do not personally believe in abortion. A baby, even in the womb, lives and grows and breathes. God has given even him/her the breath of life. However, I'm not absolutely sure where I stand on the grounds where having the baby would kill the mother. Usually, you cannot tell the mother is going to die from birth until afterward, can you?
I believe that God creates everyone and everything for a purpose. He knows what He is doing, and it is not right for us to play God. I do not condemn a woman for not sacrificing herself. However, if someone gets pregnant and decides she doesn't want to have the baby, then there are plenty of other alternatives to abortion. In certain circumstances, the government will even pay for you to have the baby put up for adoption. Plenty of people out there are desperate to have a baby but can't. They would love to adopt. It's not fair for a woman to have her baby killed because she didn't use birth control. So many women think they are grown and do whatever they want, but then when they see there are consequences they can't handle they do something drastic. Once you get the abortion, you can't turn back...and so many women are haunted for the rest of their lives because of it. Why would anyone want to do that to themselves?

Even though I am Christian I am not the hardcore type that goes around forcing my beliefs down other's throats. When it comes to abortion I believe it is wrong, but not because it is murder. Women KNOW what they are getting into when they have sex. If you get pregnant because the rubber broke or some other reason then you should keep the baby. Abortion gives women and irresponsible fathers a way to escape their new responsibility, Abortion should be outlawed. Only women who were raped should be able to get an abortion but other than that, no. If there was no abortion women and men would think more carefully about having sex so much out of wedlock.

We say it's murder because the baby is a person. They'll try to tell you that it just isn't a person until they say so, but since we have no way of defining when a person recieves a soul, we have no choice but to treat it as if it does the whole time. No matter how inconvenient it is for the mother, since the baby is not at fault for this inconvenience, it must be given its shot at life. If it comes down to a choice between a mother or her child dying.... that's just up to her, a life is certain to die either way, so nothing can truly be said to be saved, it's just one of those decisions that has to be made even though nobody is really qualified to do it. What really gets me are the mercy killings. They say that, because a child has a genetic abnormality or deformity, killing it is merciful for the child. Who knows, maybe they really are sparing it a miserable existence, but who are they to play God? Nobody has the right to steal that most basic of rights from an innocent child who has no say in the matter: the right to live, whether miserably or like a king. You may as well enslave the world and micro-manage their lives, because that way they won't suffer nearly as much. Think of it; a world without war, poverty, or unfair treatment, and all for the price of one's freedom. Sorry, that just takes away the point of life.

Its obvious many anti-abortion types grew up in strict religious households and felt unloved. Unconsciously, they suspect their mother would have aborted them if she had had a choice.

Their propaganda claims that abortion is murder and they want to prevent murder. This is easily proven to be a lie. If they really felt abortion was murder, they would be doing everything they could to prevent each abortion. Most abortions are very easy to prevent – just use birth control. If anti-abortion types really wanted to stop as many abortions as possible, they would be handing out condoms and pills everywhere they could. Of course, that isn’t happening. These are the exact same people who are against birth control and demand everyone be celibate. Newsflash – this is the same thing the church has been saying and doing for over a thousand years – POWER and CONTROL! Anti abortion types want to control everyone’s sexuality, they want to punish people who have sex. Pure and simple.

The Bible says, Thou shalt not kill. Abortion is taking a life. That little baby is life the minute it was conceived. A baby can not help theirself. I believe it should have a chance in life just like me and you did. I thank God my Mama did not have an abortion with me. God does forgive people for their sins. When a person is Truly saved, they will not be having abortions. God makes you a new person. You have no desire for such sin.

Less than 2% of abortions in the United States ever have anything to do with the mother's life. 98% have everything to do with the mother's convenience. (Not ready to have kids, can't afford it, boyfriend left, etc.)

Therefore, an innocent life is snuffed for convenience sake.

The "choice" in pro-choice, should come before the unmarried woman decides to copulate.

As far as forgiveness goes, that is conditional. They must repent, and confess their sin to God, through Jesus Christ's vicarious substitutionary death, burial and resurrection. Without that, no sin - even abortion, can be forgiven.

I personally am anti abortion only if there isn't a medical reason for it. If the baby or mother are in harm then i believe that it is something that must be done. But the women who screw around and get pregnant but don't think they are ready, those are the "murderers".If you aren't ready to raise a child then you aren't ready to make one,so practice the best means of birth control-abstinence.

first off the baby is human. Second off people should be responsible. third off practicality. What if that baby would grow up to be the greatest physicist or some other thing. Maybe if there weren't so many abortions the human race would be travelling to other stars. But we can't. why? Because some irresponsible man and woman just killed the would-be greatest man/woman of our time.

If the mother is endangered by a full-term birth and the child must be removed, why must its brains be sucked out first? Children are born premature every day and most of them survive with the help of modern medicine. Why is that not an option?

Abortion isn't used to save the life of the mother. It is used to make her life more convenient by killing her child.
