Gatorade drink mix is a great choice. Home made cookies with ingredients that don't melt. If they likes to read perhaps some paper backs, local newspapers or comic books. A deck of cards. Perhaps some other travel sized game that they might enjoy. Stamped envelopes that they could use to send letters home.

How about asking all this persons friend to write personal letters and then send them all in one envelope so then this person can keep up to date with whats happening at home.Maybe also send something that this person would really be missing...Good luck!

Whatever his/her favourite snacks are (preferably non melty ones!) magazines, baby/face wipes (its hot out there and washing water is sometimes short) nice coffee/coffee grounds. photos and a good gossipy letter!

But absolutely anything ANYTHING is great to get in the post!
