I broke up with him because he completely changed almost overnight and started treating me like dirt. Now, he calls me to tell me how many women he's been hooking up with.
He just did it again an hour ago. Why do I take his calls? Because I'm still in love and I hope he's calling to say he wants to work things out.
This is killing me, though. And when I asked him why he was calling me to tell me these things, he hung up the phone on me.
I hate him, but I want him back. What can I do?????

I had a companion that tried that dumb stuff with me. I left him a voicemail message that said, "I don't care how many women you have, since you are such a screwed up person, you don't have any friends and you never will because you don't know how to treat people. Don't call me again". He blew up my phone. When he reached me he apologized and said that he really missed me and wished I were back in the same state he was in.
You broke up with him and he wants you to think you are missing out on something. I wants you to think you weren't that important to him. But if you weren't he wouldn't keep calling you. Remember why you left him in the first place and find a decent, mature MAN!!

Look, you broke it off with him-not the other way around. He is calling to tell you about the others because his pride is wounded.That also tells me that you aren't expressing yourself well to him, be honest, you are sending him mixed signals and he is confused. Tell him what you want!!! If you are really in love with him then show your dominant side and take control before it's too late. You are good at it with strangers, right? Well, now it's time to put it to use in the real world.Make it happen NOW or you will only have regrets later. Good luck.

If you keep playing these games with him and then accept him back when he's ready, you will be playing those kind of games for the term of your relationship because he knows he can get away with it. When he calls to tell you of his conquests to make you jealous say as soon as possible that if he has something to say in regards to your relationship you will listen otherwise, you have things to do, then hang up the phone. Do that as many times as it takes for him to get the point that you aren't playing. If he wants to renew the relationship that will give him the message, if not, you haven't lost anything except listening to him brag. Good luck!

You can stop thinking with your emotions and start thinking with you head. You just said, "(he) started treating me like dirt." So are we to infer that you want to be treated like dirt. If you like being treated like dirt then by all mean, continue to take his calls and hope that he'll take you back so that he can step all over you again.
However, if you want to be treated better by a man, you have to start by treating yourself better. Treating yourself better would be cutting your losses; admit to yourself that he is not the man for you; stop taking his calls; move on with your life and have fun with others.

Love yourself more, and don't take the jerk back. He's just being a dick by calling and telling you about the hook-ups. All the more reason to stay away.

You need to either change your number or stop answering his calls. If you had/have a daughter, and she told you about someone treating her like this would you encourage her to continue seeing him? So why don't you want better for yourself? He treats you like shyt because you let him. You need to lose that creep and regain your self-respect as a woman.

Because there was something he wanted from you when you were together and refused to provide for him. Now he wants you to know he is getting it elsewhere. But he wishes you were the one he got it from. He cares for you but there is something these other girls give that you didnt. So he punishes you by telling you.
