they are really small and black. you can get rid of them with any kind of expensive flee killer for your carpet and to get them off your kitten you should go to your nearest vet and ask for advice there. they might even sell some. no they can not live on humans unless you have really long hair.

Fleas are difficult to get rid of, especially if you live somewhere with carpet. They are especially hard to get rid of if your kitten has long hair. If you have the money, advantage or frontline are deinately the way to go. If you are low on cash, I have found that the flea powder is the most effective (and cheapest.) Flea shampoo works good too, especially on young cats that would normally be too young to be treated. (All the insecticides are washed away.) My maine coon kitten was so infested with fleas that I had to shave her to get rid of them, but she was a very long-haired cat. Whatever you do, don't try a flea collar, even the expensive ones just don't work. Fleas can live on carpets, and live in the dander in the carpet, so they can survive months without any "host." Here is how to get rid of fleas in carpet: Close off a room that you are going to de-flea and don't let your kitten in there. Sprinkle a liberal coating of Borax powder all over the carpet, couches, and anything fabric. Wait 7 days, and then vaccuum the whole mess up. Don't let your kitten come in contact with the Borax--it will kill her.

Hi kittens usually do have fleas, you will tell if they have tiny black dots all over them, also if you run a flea comb through them you will remove a fleas and the black bits from your cat. Fleas can jump from one pet to another and love to lay eggs in your carpet and on furniture and some times if you have alot of fleas they can jump on you and anywhere else and you can see them. They dont necessary live on humans as they like fur and really warm places but they can bite you i have 5 cats all from kittens and i haven't been bit by a flea yet
To get rid of fleas
1 Do you cat with flea comb every day, make sure you wrap the fleas into a tissue and put in to a bag with no hole sin so they dont escape.Tie the bag tight afterwards
2, You can also get flea collars to prevent fleas on kittens and cats that's if they are old enough to wear one. Also they have flea droppys.
3 Spray and powder your carpets with flea spray and powder regularly.
4 If you dont mind gettin clawed to death you can bath your cat and put flea powder on them to kill fleas
It is important to do all this as fleas can cause your cats to get worms and if your cat has a bad case of fleas it can even kill the cat. If you not sure then take you kitten to the vets Hope this helps

Go to the vets and get frontline for kittens. When the kitten is free of fleas the others living in your home will die too as they can only live off of the animal for a couple of hours. You can buy spray for the carpet and bed if you want but they will die. Dont worry all animals get fleas you just need to be aware when to deflea them.

Is your kitten scratching alot, if so then it has fleas. You need to buy some flea drops, some cat spray (for fleas) and some flea spray for the house. No cat fleas can not live on humans, so that is one less thing to worry about, but they can live in carpets. What I would suggest is get the house spray and spray every room the cat has been in and then vac up, and your welcome I am always glad to hep if and when I can.
Hope I have been of some help.

The vet will treat the kitten but at the same time you will have to treat the house. If the kitten sleeps on light coloured bedding have a look for flea poo. it looks like black specks. Word of warning though i used a spray flea killer for my kitten and just about killed him. The stuff if strong and kittens are only little, it was foaming at the mouth. Also treat the kitten for worms...fleas and worms go together.

Oh yes, if your kitten has fleas they will be anywhere the kitten goes. Carpet, furniture, kittens bed, your bed if he gets there. If he's not dropping fleas you can be sure he is dropping flea eggs. Take him to a vet to be treated and ask the vet for a recommendation on what to use in your house. Please do not use over the counter products, they have harmed many pets.

you need to comb the kitten preferably on a piece of white paper and you should see small dirt like pieces or the fleas themselves on the paper ,the fleas are dark brown/ black in colour . go to a good pet shop and ask their advice and they will be more than happy to help you, fleas are a problem at this time of the year, they will lay eggs in your carpet which can lay dormant for some time so you will have to treat the house as well.

They live in your garden and on the carpet, they jump on the kitten to feed and for a small kitten they can be very serious. He needs to see the vet for a product thats effective and safe for kittens.
Hoover every day, and hoover out his bed. They will jump on you and bite. Fleas transmit tapeworm so get him wormed by the vet as well, they've got one you drop on the skin on the back of his neck.
You may not see them on him at all, run a nit comb through his fur and if you finsd any drop them in a saucer of surgical spirits.
You can also get electronic flea traps, they're quite effective. The fleas jump on a warm pad and stick to the glue.
