Human nature, unfortunately. We are fragile things, who hate to have our egos crushed and too many of us want ot have the last word or hold the higher moral ground.
In the long run, suppressing emotions like that can't be doing us any good. Better to forgive and get on with your life then to hold a grudge and stay angry.

it's the human nature. sin gets in the way of everything good in life. i mean no one wants to point the finger @ themselves!
its hard to forgive sometimes because of our natural instinct to get revenge. you just have to push that out and forgive. forgive and forget. if you don't do that you are still holding a grudge. grudges bring on hatefulness. hatefulness is a one way ticket to hell.
if it's something HUGE then ask God to help you to forgive the person. i was raped and sextually harassed by 4 different guys growing up and only through God hav i been able to forgive them. i know i wouldn't of been able to do it on my own.
just give it to God and he'll take care of things. that's why he's here, to take care of us at all costs.

Slow to forgive. You got that right! Simple if we forgive we give up our defense and open ourselves to be hurt again.
