I can only imagine that it would be a few times a day (unless you're drinking a lot of carbonated beverages, then it would be much more). Either way, if you burp a normal amount, you probably wouldn't be thinking about it that much. Otherwise, you might have some kind of disorder, like acid reflux, or you could get nervous stomach, usually related to stress, but burps that are caused by that usually have a rotten egg odor to them. You should probably ask a doctor if you're concerned.

Heart burn, acid reflux, bloating, gas, burping, irregular bowel movements, and a noisy stomach; even headaches or skin reactions are examples of symptoms of a poor functioning digestive system.
The cause of these symptoms varies from insufficient digestive enzyme production, low acid levels, unhealthy diet, stress, food allergies or sensitivities.
Belching or burping (eructation) is the voluntary or involuntary, sometimes noisy release of air from the stomach or esophagus through the mouth. Burping 3 to 4 times after eating a meal is normal and is usually caused by swallowing air. Other causes of burping include nervous habits or other medical conditions, such as an ulcer or a gallbladder problem. In some cultures, a person may belch loudly after eating to show appreciation
