when a child loses a tooth what is the stuff they have to gargle with? is it salt water?

You make a saltwater gargle out of a pint (.5 liter) of clean water and 1/2 to 1 teaspoon (about 10-15 mg) of salt. This will keep the area clean and may flush out any problem-causing bacteria.

They don't have to gargle with it, but yes warm salt water will sooth and prevent infection. IIt also works great for a sore throat. In my family, after the tooth was pulled and the water was gargled, a big bowl of ice cream was in store for the losee!

Yes, a mild 1 part salt to 10 parts luke warm water solution should help stop the bleeding.

I usually suck on a ice cube to stop bleeding. But salt water prevents infection. So use plain water and salt water.

You don't REALLY have to do anything. You can have her bite on some gauze for a little while if it is bleeding enough to gross her out.
