Not really I live not even a half hour away from LA, and I can tell you, there are more people concintrating on their taxes, wall street and arcitecture then trying to be on TV or in the movies these days.

Not any more than in New York, Toronto or London. Lots of TV commercials are made in and around LA, but there isn't much serious theater...many acting teachers tho'. Budding rock stars can find cheap studio time in the Valley.

No that is a stereotype. There are many actors and entertainment folks around LA, but it is not the majority or anywhere near that.

The northern part, yes. Everything seems to revolve around the industry.
