I'm looking for a cruise type trip on the west coast on a windjammer type ship. It doesn't need to be on Windjammer itself, but my dude has his heart set on a big ship with all those giant sails. He's older, so I don't want him swabbing decks or anything, but I'm NOT going with him.I KNOW I have no sea legs, I'm staying home with the pets. So, I'd love some guidance on this one please. all-inclusive would be brilliant, but not essential; 3 days; 5 days; Mexico, oregon, i don't really care, he just want to go on the big ship.;all ideas welcome! Ideas? Thank you kindly!!!

As Owner of a Travel Agency, I can tell you right now that WINDJAMMER is the only "cruise ship with sails". But there's a dilemna, though. WINDJAMMER does not sail on the West Coast, just the Caribbean areas. There's lots of "non-sails" cruise lines that sail the West Coast, however.

If you could kindly either call, email me at: indysteve1563@yahoo.com, or reach me through Yahoo Messenger, we can discuss what alternatives are available for your husband.

I just typed windjammer cruises into Yahoo's search engine and got a ton of responses. Try it, and then pick the area where you want to be.
Smart you to stay home!!!

Years ago, when I was a teenager...I had lots of friends, in Long Beach, Cal.. who would take a boat too, Catalina...They may have updated the boat to a "Windjammer", I dont know much about that type of boat... But, I do know all my friends used to love to go there, to Catalina, by boat, is the only way you, can get there. There's "Horseback-riding" and gambling, (I think), lots of clubs, etc... I do believe, you can call Long Beach's City Hall, to find out, how to enquire, about that one boat trip. Or, just call the Queen Mary, they'd definately know... how to get, on it, where to purchase your tickets, and everything about the boat, too. Good-Luck.. Oh, also try Laguna Beach's Boating sites, or Maybe, Redondo, even.....Hermosa?Maybe?

Go to Cruise.com or Cruises.com.
They list all the major lines, and give pictures of what each ship looks like.
And no, WJ is not the only line that uses sails.
There are several others, but they are pricey.
