"The Bible contains 6 admonishments to homosexuals and 362 admonishments to heterosexuals. That doesn't mean God doesn't love heterosexuals. It's just that they need more supervision."
--Lynn Lavner
I notice huge swarms of Christians who object to gay people "because the bible says it's sinful." But the bible also says wrath, hatred and lying are sinful, but I don't see them clamouring to remove from office anyone who commits *those* sins.

First of all, I can garuntee you havent even read it, and second of all if you did read it you didnt read it with an open mind. There is a difference between hating gays and disagreeing with gays, you speak of the bible as if the whole thing is one big anti-gay pamphlet, but in reality the subject is only discussed about a dozen times. God created the penis and the vagina for reasons, its that simple, our body is supposed to be a temple and anything we do that harms it or somebody elses is a sin. Its against God's will for two men or two women or any combination that isnt 1 man and 1 women who are married to have sex with each other...why? because its dangerous. 90% of people with aids in america contracted it through homosexual contact, in emergency rooms 20% of the patients are there to treat STD's and 80% of which contracted it through sexual contact. The average homosexual man doesnt live past 45 years old. 40% of gay men contract anal cancer among other deadly dieses. God knew what he was doing when he said sex is for one man and one woman who love each other and tie the knot, they dont have to worry about all these problems, god is NOT punishing them, its no different then sticking your hand in a fire place, its going to get burned. Every time somebody jumps off a bridge and they die is God punishing them because they jumped? of course not, they died because they just killed them selves, its the simple laws of life. So you should be quiet or at least study a little more before you go bashing the bible and christianity, and also its a hell of a lot more then the bible, homosexual has been forbidden in just about every religion and every culture throught history with the exception of ancient greece.
Judaism = homosexuality forbidden
Islam = homosexuality forbidden
Christianity = homosexuality forbidden
Mormanism = homosexuality forbidden
Jahova's witness's = homosexuality forbidden
communists execute gays
nazi's execute gays
most south american countries imprison gays for life
arab countries execute gays
up until recently india executed gays
SO at least go bashing them before you bash the 1 religion that at least loves gays and wants to help them rather then the rest who have no tolerance for them.
And please if you want to further discuss this i would be more then happy to help you IM me at Stormshadow813 or e-mail at amastropoll@yahoo.com

No, it isn't spiritual poison. Look, do you really undersand the Bible? If you do, you should realize that any kind of persecution of sinners is a sin. We are ALL sinners, our salvation comes from Jesus so we have no right to act better than any other sinner. What we probably differ on is the definition of persecution. I maintain that telling somebody that their sin IS a sin isn't persecution, but rather reaching out to them with the truth. When it's done in a derogatory, hahteful, or spiteful way, it becmes sin; not before.

No, not even close.
In Mein Kampf, Hitler outlines his basic problem and implies his solution -> he essentially lays the root of Germany's problems at the feet of the Jews.
The Bible describes the relationship of humanity with its Creator and what the overarching problem is (hint: man's sinful nature). For some people, man's sinful nature is reflected outwardly by their sexual preference.
In any event, each and every man is as sinful in the eyes of God as any other. Billy Graham is as sinful as the most hedonistic homosexual. The sole difference is that Billy Graham understands what it will take to restore the relationship between himself and his Creator -> Jesus. So, no, the Bible does not blame the "gays" for humanity's sin, which would be the best analogy to Hitler's Mein Kampf.
Perhaps to base your "issue" with the Bible's take on gay people on what the Bible actually says and not on what you hear people say it says.

Well, a human wrote Mein Kampf; the Bible is written by many humans but supposedly of divine origin.
But if anyone reads the Bible, it says to love all people, which I do- and to NOT JUDGE, which I don't, but no one seems to pay attention to that.
In termsof hoew the Bible is used as basis for commiting wrong against another person (people) than yes it is similar- but that is not what God intended: this is just something that man has made of it.
Mankind is evil and full of hatred,and looks for 'justification' of it's outlet. God is not hateful toward you....

I think you have it all wrong, Christians don't hate Gay people, we hate the sin, and we hate them promoting the gay thing. As a Christian I would love to see the gay's turn from there sin and live for the Lord. We all are sinners, a sin is a sin, We as humans don't like murders and don't like to see people die. The same is with gays. Satan is a liar and a deceiver. Hitler was an Anti Christ and to say that is just wrong. Jews were not gay people. No compairsion.

Sorry I don't have the retention for chapter and verse that many people have for quoting the Bible, BUT.....
I read in the Old Testament that GOD said '..homosexuality is too violent', and in the New Testament that Jesus said;
"I tell you solemnly that it will go better for Sodom on that day, because if the word had been preached to them they would have repented." And in one of the NT books. (St Paul)"They will hate you (speaking to Christains) because of the way religion is practiced (referring to the present).
(Incidentally, I don't know what people mean by repent, and I don't think it means you must renounce your sexuality, any more than a hetero must)
And I read that St. Paul said;
(The gist) '....as for a brother who lusts after his brother soley for sex, the LORD always punishes sins of that sort,' And somewhere else, ( I don't remember who) 'The Lord always punishes those whom He loves".
I also read in the OT that;
God said "I am a permissive GOD".. I also heard a TV sermon that said our society has become permissive (ie. diabolical).

No true Christian hates or condones the ill treatment of gays. They are just sinners like the rest of us. Their sin is that they are having sex with members of their own sex, which the Bible condems. This is a sin, along with many others, eg. lying, cheating, fornication, aldultery, etc. So the bible does not condem only them, but ALL sinners. Like all the wonderful blessings God has given us (Sex, food, wine, etc.) humans have taken them and perverted them into something bad, but it was all originally created for our pleasure, and if used correctly ARE still wonderful blessings!!

I don't believe our government has passed the laws demanding that gay businesses be closed and the inventories seized. I don't believe gays have been herded onto trucks and taken to prison camps.
I don't believe gays have had to start wearing gay pride emblem patches on their arms or sewn to the fronts of their clothes. I don't believe gays have been made to put numbered tattoos on their arms to identify work camps, death camps, or factory camps. I don't believe gays would appreciate this question very much at all.
Lastly, I don't believe there have been any medical experiments done on gays for the sheer joy of watching them be tortured. I don't believe the children who have so far been adopted by gay parents have been taken from their homes and put into the foster system. I don't believe your analogy is a very good one at all.
But please, stop shaving your head and put your arm down. I'm sure you have chores to do before your father/brother/uncle gets home.

Wait. The Bible ONLY says it is an abominations, it doesnt tell us to hate them, but rather to love them. It does not tell us to persecute them, it does not tell us to be mean, and hatful. It ONLY says it an abomination. The Bible also lists 7 other abominations, SEVEN others. Dont blame the Bible, blame the hate-filled people who impose only ONE point on everyone, neglicint all the others, of wich MANY are also guilty of the other abominations!!!
