the 2007 V6 Dodge Magnum is a good choice for overall auto performance, luxury, and efficiency. i own a Chrysler Concorde with similiar specifications and dimensions. it grants me great fuel-economy when i drive sensibly and has what performance i need for fun and other reasons. i take excellent care with maintaining my auto; tires, fluids, regular checks, etc. from my onboard telemetry console, i get 22-mi/gal City and 34-mi/gal Highway with an Average Fuel-Economy Rating at 28.6-mi/gal. you can research fuel-economy ratings at various sites such as Chrysler, Dodge, Motor Trend, US Dept. Energy, however their tests do not accurately mimic real-life conditions and the ratings they devise are the optimal for those autos. i suggest you test drive whatever you choose, and you will make the best decision to fit your situation. last, good choice for scoping the Dogde Magnum. if i had the extra spending i would definitely look at the Magnum or any of the SRT Line-Up.

Riderchick,

The V6 model should not be a gas guzzler, but it does depend on how you drive. You probably had the V8 model and drove it hard ;-)

According to the US Department of Energy, which conducts the fuel economy testing that you see on the window stickers, the 2006 Magnum, rear wheel drive, should get 21 city and 28 highway with the 2.7l V6 or 19 city/27 highway with the 3.5 V6. Again, your results will vary based on how you drive, how much you use a/c, how well-maintained you keep the car, if your tires are properly inflated, etc.

There are 2 V6's available...the 2.7L V6 and the 3.5L High Output V6. The 2.7L seems to be a little under-powered but you could expect about 29 mpg on the highway. The 3.5L is one of my favorites ever. It was used in the Prowler and the Motor Trend's Car of the Year, the Chrysler 300M. Just for say: The 5.7L Hemi V8 has MDS, which seemlessly shuts down from 8 cylinders to 4 and you could expect 25 or better on the highway...AMAZING! World-Class

With the 2.7 liter V-6 (like I have in my Intrepid) it's going to be about 20 city and 27 highway. the 3.5 liter will be slightly less.
