Southwest doesn't fly up here. Start with Orbitz or Travelocity, etc. Check NWA.com, Alaskaairlines.com, Delta, and United for web specials, etc.
Find someone with freq flyer miles to sell. Contrary to the rules, but people do it.
Green Tortise drives a bus up here. Stops at Laird Hot Springs, BC, etc. Kind of a hippie scene.
Get yourself to Bellingham, WA and hop the State of Alaska Ferry to anyhere in SE AK (Haines, Juneau, Ketchikan, Petersburg, Wrangell, etc). $250 to Haines the last time I did it. Bring a sleeping bag and camp out on the deck. Takes 3 days. Doesn't go all the way to Anchorage.
Go to any of the major cruise lines (Princess, Royal Caribbean, etc). 2000 other passangers, 5 swimming pools and 7 square meals a day.
Get a job in a cannery that flies people in (Dutch Harbor in the Aleutians comes to mind). But if you quit early, they want the travel cost paid back.
