What does love mean to you?

Wow...I never dreamed I would gain an opportunity to share what I wrote about Love; but two others asked similiar questions and the following is what I wrote to them: (I hope it helps.)
Love is such a splendid thing and a great question. There are as many answers to it as there are people. All Love comes from one Source. Life without Love is not possible. I know it is hard to believe; but we are all loved. The proof is in our very existence.
There is romantic love, parental love, brotherly love, love for humanity, love of God, country or state, fellowship, and companionable love. It can encompass one or many. It can be deceptively simple or enormously complex.
It can be the giving of one’s self or learning to receive gracefully. It can be a heartfelt sentiment expressed to another or an unselfish act by an unknown stranger. Sometimes, our greatest challenge is in loving ourselves.
Some people are easy to love while; others require a much deeper understanding or challenge our spirits…but we all do it, in one form or another. Love is truly an universal language understood by all. When you feel it; you know it. It has the potential to change your life or the life of another. Love can heal wounds.
It is by far, the most powerful emotion we have at our disposal to transform, enlighten, or broaden yourself and your sense of the world around you. The more you partake in it, the more of it you have to give. It never runs out. Love lives into eternity. I say this to you with love in my heart…and you will feel it. It can be this simple. May you always have Love in your Life….for it is present even when you don’t feel it.

It depends on who you ask. Love has something to do with wanting more for someone else that you do for yourself within a given context, and wanting it persistently beyond and above your own immediate needs. It also means that you know enough about yourself not to have unrealistic expectations of your self or your partner or your life circumstance so that you can maintain a certain level on the emotional equilibrium if you will. So that there is an even platform for growth in the future. And love has something to do with being able to ignore or negotiate the other persons failings or misperceptions about oneself in such a way that things last. Certain values have to be similar as well because there are many fights about money, parenting skills and future interests which must be negotiated.

ahhhhhh, you will not know for sure, untill you feel it yourself, but once you do, it is clear.
love is simply complicated,
i know that is an oxymoron, meaning, it seams simple when u look at it from a far, but its so complicated when it happens
love is when u are willing to put everything down and put your love in front of anything else no matter waht it is. that is love.

Love is giving something... almost anything... and truly expecting nothing in return for your gift. (and in fact receiving nothing)
Giving anything (money, sex, or the emotion of love) and then being POd when you don't receive something in return for it... well thats when you know that you didn't give it in love. It was for selfish reasons.

love to me, is when i feel like on top of the world when i'm with that one special person. love is when i have nothing to hide and i really enjoy being with that person. it's hard to explain, but you'll know love when you have it.

its a inner feelin of affection towards someone.where you cannot think anything bad abot him or her.you feel the pain for him or her.its a graet feeling you forf=get everything and remember the one you love.thats what i feel about love.
