Intelligent Design is neither, IMHO.
I'm no scientist but I believe that the chemical compounds that were present when our planet formed prompted life to develop. And by life, I mean the sort of thing that makes two-celled organisms look smart.
Welcome back, BTW!

ID is a worthless exercise in though; the fact is, the designs aren't that intelligent. There are so many design flaws, just in our own little species, as to expose the whole thing as a farce.
I do not think we have enough detailed information about the first 100 million years or so of the planet's history to speculate how life arose with anything like the precision needed to make it a worthwhile exercise.

Intelligent design is just the natural conclusion people come to when they carry out logic to it's inevitable end; nothing's random. Since we weren't around when life begun on the planet, we'll never know; we can form guesses, but that's about it. Even if I were atheist I'd have to say we were put here by some sort of super-advanced race of aliens; the perfect, as-of-yet-unrepeated conditions necessary to spontaneously create life from dead proteins just seems too ridiculous, something had to be arranged.

Yes, it is completely the easy way out. Intelligent design did not happen, I do not care what anyone says about the bible or any other religious book. Scientific evidence proves that the earth is millions and millions of years old, and in these years has taken place evolution.

Is there any example of life not preceded by life?
No.
Science the alternative religion would have people put faith in the theory of (you know), yet this is the same as what atheists claim is wrong with religion, blind faith in what men have told others.
As no one can definitively prove evolution, and no one can prove the existence of God(unless you acknowledge, no life exists except for the life before it), then the stalemate continues.
I know what I believe, and I am as certain as the sun will rise tomorrow, that this ridiculous debate will go on and on until the time of debating is over.
When the time is here, all will be rewarded for the sides they chose. End of story.
So let's get back to clobbering each other relentlessly with half baked theories, and repetitive mindless parroting of teachings that we have by no means tested ourselves to see if they hold water.
On we go with the battle of wits with unarmed people!

LIfe could not have come from physical processes. According to scientists lightning from storms struck the water of ancient Earth and created life. Problem, the water of that time was pure water H20, most of the Earth was covered in Iron and Sulfur substances, which can not form life. The basic elements needed for DNA, cell membranes, the nucleus, mitochondria, and various other cell organs did not exist.

this is what i know
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

In the beginning, God created.
Intelligent design is an attempt to get past the problem in evolution of the law of abiogenisis. Life comes from life. Without life there is no life.It is also used as a failed attempt to reconcile the bible with evolution.

Maybe.
God created by "speaking" things into existence.
God is an invisible Spirit, so how did He speak? - Through the physical manifestation of Himself in Jesus.
I don't know how some people say that Jesus was not God when the Bible says "ALL of the FULLNESS of the Godhead" dwells (present tense) in Christ.

God spoke it into being and created each and every living and non-living thing. There is more scientific proof of creation than there is for evolution, and it actually takes more faith to believe in evolution than it does creation! Many scientists have set out to DISprove creation, only to find that they themselves proved creation and DISproved evolution!
