You're treating prayer like some sort of spell, or mantra; God knows what you want, just pray for him to give you vision to as for the right things, and in the meantime, ask for relief. If it doesn't come, it's because it's for the ultimate good; it's hard to see it, but everything is a part of God's plan, He already knows what's best for you.

The most powerful prayer in all of heaven and earth, lies within you.
Pray from your heart, if you cannot find the words to tell GOD what you are feeling, the holy spirit will interceed for you and lift your thoughts to GOD in perfect sense.
GOD said to pray as a little child, they do not read yet, and have no set prayer, they just tell GOD what is on their mind. This is what we should do.
SO, stop looking for a prayer , and just pray from your heart, and you will see and feel the difference.

Yes, If you are in right standing with GOD, then you can get a prayer through! read (1 John 5: 6-15)....this should answer your question!....Please do not expect everybody on yahoo to help you , because everybody on yahoo Does Not Have A Spiritual Connection With GOD, Nor Can they Get A Prayer Through For You!.....95% per cent of this religious/spiritual site is flooded with Atheists, GOD HATING UNBELIEVERS!......PS. Stick With the Born Again Believers!...I will pray for you, as well as my prayer warriors!...GOD Bless!.....By the way!.......Notice who GOD Chooses To Get Prayers Through!...Read (James 5: 13-16)....

I think the most powerful prayers are sincere, asking God for guidance from your heart. The words don't really matter all that much. Just ask the Holy Spirit to lead you in praying through it. Also, meditating on the Bible can help - just ask God to show you what you need, and open to a page. That has worked for me in the past, as well. Fasting can help - reminding your body that only God sustains you anyway. Dedicate it to Him and let Him lead you.

I am Roman Catholic, and so I can totally appreciate your use of the Novena as a way to pray, but let me tell you something you may have overlooked. Your very question is the best prayer I've heard for the situation you're in. I'm not saying anyone here on Yahoo Answers can tell you what to do to straighten your life out, like "Step 1, Step 2, Step 3, . . .". But your admission of your belief in Jesus our Christ is the greatest thing any human being can do to get their life in order, and praying and asking for prayer is greater than anything anybody here on earth can do, or should I say, is The Greatest Thing anybody, anywhere on earth can do, alongside studying His Word in His Bible. One additional thought here. Be open to God's answer that may not be what you're looking for. I say this from experience as well as having been taught that. My life has been ANYTHING BUT what I dreamed it would be back in my younger years, but due to God's help, even when I didn't want Him anywhere around, I am now in the most wonderful situation my life has ever been in, even in spite of its current difficulties. Never be surprised at what God has to say to your prayers. They may come slower than you want, or not even sound anything like what you want, or even sound contrary to what you want, but you keep praying your prayers like you did in your question today, and other prayers as well, and I can PROMISE YOU that GOD HAS ALREADY BEGUN listening to you and already has an answer for you. You truly are one VERY BLESSED human being. God Bless you forever.

TEARS OF HEALING
By Emma Smith
God has real estate I’ve never seen,
A Heaven and Earth and realms beyond.
Great clouds of Angels to host his domain,
And generations of people His Word to proclaim.
How majestic is His Kingdom and the mansions He
Is contracting to be build without hands?
The walls will be assembled by the voice of His command.
My mansion can be built in the twinkling of an eye.
This time the garden will be perfect
And this fruit tree will bow in great splendor.
Satan in his underworld will never enter in!
The trees of healing will be all around us,
As our prayers chime the air.
Our Lord in His great majestic robe and crown
Will raise His golden sword over head,
For no more tears will be found.
Each day I get a little closer to the place where I will be,
Underneath that healing tree.
There’s nothing here to hold me back,
As the river flows by my shack.
This real estate just changed from black to white.
Now God says everything will be all right.
Satan laughs at our toiling and mocks at our wisdom,
But trembles when we pray.

The most powerful prayer is the Mass. Other powerful prayers are the Divine Office (Liturgy of the Hours),the Rosary, and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. (If you are going through physical suffering (perhaps a disease) you may want to find a Benedictine priest who can give you the St. Maurus (my patron saint) blessing, some diocesan priests can give the Maurus blessing too.)

I have to agree about praying straight from the heart. God wants to know "YOUR" needs. Speak to Him as you were speaking with a friend sitting right beside you. The best prayer in my opinion is The Lord's Prayer. Our Father, Who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven, Give us this day, our daily bread and forgive us for our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever, AMEN.
After your prayer, you need to have "faith" that God will answer your prayers. Keep in mind that His answers are just as a parent's here on Earth. His answer can be Yes or No.. depending on what is best for you, His child. If His answer is no, you must accept that. I know that's probably not the answer you want to hear, but in reality, it's the truth. People want only "Yes" answers and unfortunately, that can't be, because God wants what is best for us. I will keep you in my prayers as well. God Bless~~
PS,, keep in mind that the Lord's Prayer is only a model prayer.. your personal prayer can be in your own words but according to the "model prayer". :)

Talk to him like he is your best friend, I dont believe that a pre written prayer is more powerful than a prayer that comes from one who is truly seeking help.

The most powerful prayer is the one that comes straight from your heart through your spirit. If you need words to help you get started, say Dear heavenly Father, most awesome and mighty Father, how I love Thee! How I tremble when I think of Thy wisdom, Thy power, how I love to praise Thee! Most merciful Father, I need Thee always, but I especially need Thee now, as my spirit is vexed concerning the direction of my life. Only Thee can place my foot upon the right path, the path that Thou knowest is best for my life and my soul. Help me, Father. I am Thy child and I am beseeching Thee. Through Jesus Christ, my Savior and Lord, I ask this, and I thank Thee, oh God. Amen.
