Well starting off as a teacher in South Florida the wages in different counties range from $27,000 to $33,000 per year. Not including taxes and extra expenditures. In the county I live in, it is $28,000 start pay for a Bachelor's degree with certifications, and $33,000 start pay for a Master's degree with certifications. The average teacher holds a Bachelor's in high school or elementary schools. So dividing that by 12 months a year it is approximately $2333 / month not including the taxing with will most likely leave you with $1850 give or take. Rent here in the same county for a decent 2 bedroom apartment is about $850-900 and a decent single family house about $1000-1500. Then for a nice home its usually well over $1800 / month. That does not include water, electric, car insurance, car payment, cable or satellite, groceries, gas (which is about $3/gallon here), and other such expenses if you have children and other payments. Hardly seems worth it, huh? That's why they tell us immediately in college that if you're interested in money, change your major right now! It's not going to happen in Education! Hope it helps :)

There are many varying factors. I can only tell you where I live that a first year teacher starts out at about 3,000 and rent here is around 400 on average.

It is absolutely going to vary by state what a teacher makes due to how many years he/she has been degreed. Also, rent totally depends on where you are living and what you are renting.

This varies tremendously due to where you work and where you live.
Starting salary for teachers in NYC is around $35000.
Rent can be, easily $1000 a month for yourself.
It's not a career to get rich with.

in indonesia, when i was teaching they pay me about 150 dollars per month. it's about 1500k Rupiah, our currency here.

For room rent they usually charge 300k rupiah or 30 USD, for common room rent. Lucky...i stay with my family...hihihi...

Not a good pay compared to other countries...indonesia is so lame in salalry stuff!

In the US it depends on what state, and within the state, what school district you work for. Same with rent...it depends on where you live, and what you want to live in...apt, trailer, house, condo, etc.
