But I'm REALLY hungry and there's nothing else to eat here. Should I just go ahead and finish it?

Just for reference, the spider was cooked into the pie UNDER the crust (inside the pie). The pie was boxed and frozen. Most people said eat it, so I did...mmmm spiderlicious!

Eat it. They say insects are full of extra nutrients that our body needs. Who knows, maybe you will wake up with extra strength and a well-defined muscular body in the morning and be "spider-man"! If so, maybe you could come rescue this damsil in distress!!

The enlightened federal government allows a certain amount of buggie stuff in your food. If you send a letter to Swanson you may get some attention (as in a coupon for free food), but if you try to sue you will undoubtedly lose. How can you prove you didn't put the spider in yourself? Do you have witnesses? Just take the spider out. If you cooked the meal well there is no problem with eating the food if you really want to.

If you found a spider in your meat pie, It got there AFTER it left that packaging company..

I was in the packaging industry for many many years.. There is no way, with all the saftey factors in place that you would ever get a spider in your food..

If you are not sure, Contact the Store where you got the product from, you can also contact the 800 number on the package and talk to the quality control people there.>> I am sure that they would like for you to return the package for their inspection..

Just a thought though.... Maybe the spider was hungry also..

No. and call Swanson. Maybe, they will give to a replacement coupon. Go out and buy something else, if you don't have anything in the fridge.

Sure. No problem at all with it.
Even if it was poisonous, the cooking destroyed the poison

Just eat it, it is okay. It's not like its a three pronged fish hook in your Mrs. Pauls fish sticks.
