I know a soldier who is just going back for a second tour in Iraq. He told me about the regular family's there who are friendly to the American soldiers but others are hostile because they have lost innocent family members in the bombings. We don't hear anything about that on the news.

There are 'innocents' lost. It is unfortunate. On the other hand - if you're living in a given city and it is under seige with terror threats from within as well as external what do you do? You can leave and go to an area that is less likely to have that influence. You can stay and risk getting caught in the crossfire. There are choices...maybe not good ones but there are choices. There is a LOT we don't hear on the news. We don't hear about the Iraqi people who are greatful for America's help. We don't hear about a lot of things happening.
Where was the concern for the average Iraqi when they merely voiced disagreement and were fed feet first (so they didn't die right away) through a plastic shredder? Where was the concern when Saddam was killing tens of thousands of people? Where was the concern when Saddam killed 5000 people with mustard gas and nerve agents? Where was the concern under CLINTON'S terms for hundreds of thousands of children starving to death because the money they were sent for aid never got to them but instead went to the hands of a few for monuments and other things.

The good things AREN'T going to be reported on the news. Heaven forbid they upset the anti-Bush folks and the critics. But not reporting it doesn't mean it didn't happen. The average Iraqi has a LOT more than he did ten years ago.

More Iraqis are dieing at the hands of the insurgents than at the hands of Coalition forces. And even with all those figures put together, its fewer than Saddam Hussein was killing while he held power in Iraq. Read up on Saddam's victims. The news doesn't put any of this into perspective because their agenda is to make money. People don't listen to the news unless its (CONTROVERSIAL). So, in order to sell more advertising, which is how they make their money, they have to be controversial. I suspect they also would like to knock the conservative force in this country as well.

Nobody can tell you for sure because the people keeping the records make no distinction between dead civilians and dead enemy combatants.

For example a simple statistical survey of the iraqbodycount.net site reveals that far fewer female and child deaths are occurring than would be expected if these we all actually civilian casualties.

Hint: civilian deaths should be roughly 50-50 male/female and include 40% under the age of 18 if we are to suspect that they are actually all dead civilians.

There are no real numbers. There have been too many to count. However, we need to remember that not all have been killed by US or allied forces. Many are killed by inurgents, that claim to fight for Iraq against the Americans.

Less than there would be if there was no war. In Iraq, civilians got killed all the time.

Depends on when you start counting.
between 38901 and 43336
That's from war acts regardless of who did them.
