The answer is simple. Someone recomended the dog whisperer for this and in truth he did have a case like this. What you have to do is, while avoiding eye contact face the dog directly and do not show/exude any sence of fear or apprehension. You need to show this dog that you are an alpha and that your girlfriend is yours not his.

Ever hear the song "Good Vibrations" by the Beach Boys? Brian Wilson said he first thought of the song when he remembered something his grandmother told him when he was a kid:

He noticed a dog tied up in a yard. The dog would bark at certain people, but let others pass by unmolested. Brian asked his grandmother, "Grandma, how come dogs bark at certain people, but not at others?"

His grandmother replied that it's because dogs are keen to people's vibrations. If a person has "bad vibrations," then they bark.

So when he grew up, Brian Wilson decided he would write a positive song about positive vibrations in people, thus "Good Vibrations."

So...I think the dog is picking up something you did in your past that is lingering in your energetic vibrations.

What did you do? Are you a positive person or a negative person? Do you have a bad temper? Do you get angry easily? Even if it's a small thing you don't think about for more than a few seconds--like, do you slam on the horn in traffic when the car in front of you stops suddenly? Did you cheat someone in a business deal--or, dare I say, have you ever cheated on your girlfriend--even a one-night stand? Those negative acts stick on your soul like smudges on fresh paint, and animals can sense those negative vibrations, you know. Brian Wilson's grandmother was on to something.

I have trained dogs for competition in the past but I have no idea about this one. Try not looking at the dogs eyes when you approach. Look down and the dog won't be as afraid of you. It's the opposite with aggressive dogs.

Do your hands ever smell like blood? jk

The last comment could be right. Dogs to get very jealous. What does the dog do when you and your girlfriend are kissing etc.

It sounds like you are giving her unconcious body signals that are making her nervous...my male dog is a similar mix and is very sensitive to strangers it took him 2 years to let my best friends boyfriend even touch him. I suggest you completely and utterly ignore her every time you are there it is the only thing that works for my dog to stop barking at strangers and get used to them, and when I say ignore I mean no eye contact whatsoever, dont talk to her or give her treats, and dont incline your body towards her ever. Also I am sure it makes you nervous of her because of the way she is acting towards you so forget about her dont even think about her when you are there because they can sense nervousness and fear in people and it makes them in turn nervous and fearful. I swear that it works as soon as a new person ignores my dog he instantly calms down and sneaks up to sniff them and eventually brings them his toy after several visits. Just make sure that even after she comes up to you continue ignoring her completely and most important NO EYE CONTACT dogs consider it a threat. If this doesnt work nothing will.

The dog is always right. Find another girlfriend because if she has to choose between the two of you, the dog will come first.

Either she's nuts or the dog just doesn't remember that well. Try and really get as close as you can with that dog. The dog will eventually like you and Start to remember you it bit more. REMEMBER most dogs just try and look strong but aren't. She also could just be like crazy over protective!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get down to her level, looking down apon her makes her feel thretened, let her sniff your hand and greet her in a soft voice, smile at her, just be friendly, dont make lots of sudden moves it could make her nervious, just be very calm and gentile with her. She needs many times of this over and over and shell eventually warm up to you :) good luck!
