It needs to be under 300 bucks, ideally around 200 bucks. Its just for taking pictures when i'm on vacation and i'll be printing them on my printer at home. I like camera's that can focus quickly and take good pictures. I want a camera that is very slim/small/compact. Any suggestions to exact models that would be nice chioces?

Also: I did some research on the internet and found this model: Sony Cyber-shot 5.1-Megapixel Digital Camera - Black Model: DSC-T5/B which is running around 200 bucks right now. Does anybody have any reviews on this camera? I don't like internet reviews because the reviewers are professional photographers and they are really picky. I like honest "average Joe" reviews.

Thanks for the help in advance.

you should get a canon powershot. there are many different cameras in that series. the really slim ones are like $200. The one that I have, Canon Powershot A540, is about one inch and is a very good camera. The features are very very good :). Check out the website. Well Good luck on finding a camera!

If you are looking for a camera, I wouldn't go less then 5 megapixals. 6 or more would be the best. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4840433 This is the camera that I bought not too long ago. You can get it for about 150 bucks. If you do get this, get recharageable AA's. I know someone recommended not getting them, but I like cameras that does take them, and I'd just get a few changes of recharagables. I like it so that if I am out and taking pictures and I don't have time to charge the batteries, I can use regular AA's if I really need too. But let me warn you, you will need a BIG pack of AA's if you want to rely on it. But this camera takes only 2. Also you will want to get a bigger SD memory if you do go for this camera. Well I hope this helps!

I've had a Sony Cybershot DSC-P9, 4.0 mega-pixels for about 3 years now. I can't think of anything to criticize (I love Sony products).

It can even make movie clips, but I never use that feature, so I can't comment. The newer cameras are a little smaller, but I still can carry this one in a pocket, so that's not a real big issue. It's pretty intuitive to use, and downloads to my computer are easy.

I have several spare memory sticks @ 128 MB each, so I never run out of memory space. I also have a spare battery which I keep charged for backup.

Make sure that whatever you buy fits your hand and eye real well. And don't worry about a lot of bells and whistles. Most of those features go unused (like my movie clip feature).

We use Sony cyber shots at work and they are not worth the trouble. We have had all types of problems with them ranging from bad batteries to fuzzy pictures and other things. I don't even use the cameras the company has. I bought my own Canon SLR, but it cost $1,500.

I have found much better luck with Canon and Olympus digitals. You can pick up some very nice cameras on sale.

i'm by technique of no potential a digicam specialist, actual purely the alternative yet i'm always surprised at how large of images my Kodak Z7590 takes. i do no longer imagine that sort remains on the marketplace in spite of the indisputable fact that the more moderen Z or DX fashions are all about an similar. they have higher zoom than many 10x-12x, are a huge broking, and decently priced. you should actual get one at properly lower than $500 yet because you element out you may spend $500 perchance you're searching for some thing somewhat better. For $three hundred-$four hundred you should get the Kodak digicam with all upload-ons (dock, case, and so on) in case you need an effective primary use digicam with an effective zoom then i'd bypass with the Kodak.

okay so i got my camera on sale but i have a 5.1 megapixel cybershot, sony camera. it was only around about200 or 100 bucks. I also think it is really good to. when you take a picture its blurry but it comes out really good and clear when its taken. also don't make the same mistake i did. get a memory stick duo. but its really good. Also carry a few extra double a batteries because digital cameras use them up very quickily.

Minimum 6 pixels (not 5) and make sure it has a dedicated rechargable battery - you are wasting time and money with a camera that takes AA or similar disposable (or even regular "mass produced "rechargable) batteries. Good luck finding one at the price you quote though. If you can reach to about 350.00 you will have much more choice and the desired flexibility.

I love my FinePix A205 by Fujifilm..It took all our vacation photos this year and I have no complaints...Check out my Yahoo! 360 page and check out my photos to the right in my album and decide for yourself.

It also has a digital screen to view photos right after taking them. You can decide from there whether or not you want to delet them if they came out blurry....I took some photos of the Montana Mountain while in a moving car and it didn't affect the photo quality at all..

The price is really reasonable...less then $150.00 and that doesn't mean it's cheap...as I've had my camera for over 2 yrs. with no problems.
