No this isn't a sign of anything. This is a thing that just about all kids pick up from cartoons, television, movies, and even their friends. The need to be taught that it is okay to play, but in real life pointing a gun at someone can be very dangerous and should be done only as a last resort. But they should also be taught to not go up to people and pointing their finger and acting like its a gun. They could do that to the wrong person or someone who does not understand that they are just playing, and someone could get hurt. There are also a lot of things you can do to steer them away from liking violence (which is a major problem with people today). Try introducing them to non-violent games and activities. There are lots of programs and cartoons out there with no violence in them at all. Many churches also have programs to keep children from being "infected" with what the world is trying to teach them about violence.

As for the language, they need to be taught that that is NOT something they or anyone should do. It is not only disrespectful to those to whom they say it, but shows they have no respect for themselves. What my mother use to do when I was younger wash to wash my mouth out with soap when I would say bad words. I learned very quickly about not saying them.

I hope this will be of some help.

My daughter has a toy gun and pretends to shot everyone. My daughter also like playing fighting games on the PS2 with her dad but we also teach her that it is not appropriate to do those things in school or to anyone. We also don't have real guns and we make sure her friends houses are gun free(except one he is a police officer and it is locked up properly).
