You need a blender, or a magic bullet, a food processor, or something that will pulverize the carrot. You can squeeze grapefruits (pretty much all citrus) or cut in half and churn over the top of a hard surface if you had to..but carrots are pretty hard to turn into juice without the aid of an electrical small appliance. Go check out Goodwill or any local thrift store and you can likely find a previously used juicer or blender that's pretty cheap. Either that or ask to borrow a neighbor's.

Carrot juice is very nutritious for you, and is an acquired taste! I think what you are needing is a juicer though. It has a blade that grates the fruit or veggies into pulp, and the juice is "spun" out. If you try to make it in a blender, you will end up with what probably looks like baby food, and it may ruin your blender. Edit: WOW lotsa responses while I was typing! I stand corrected, I never thought of straining the juice out! I am seriously addicted to my stainless steel juicer, I guess! I use it a lot, and thanks to it, a lot of good health! (And also yucky looks from those nearby- "what the ^@#$% are you drinking" haha)

To make carrot juice taste better:
First, after you get used to carrot juice, it will taste good by itself. So
the trick is to get your taste buds used to it.
Start with something simple: carrot/apple juice. I use about a pound of
carrots and 1/2 to 1 apple. I found Golden Delicious apples to be the best
tasting combination when juiced.
Try cutting down the apple some and adding a stick of celery: makes a saltier
drink that brings out the sweetness. Another refreshing drink is carrot juice
with pickling cucumbers.
If the thickness bothers you, try straining the juice and mixing with water or
sparkling water to get started.
I rarely drink straight carrot juice, but I also combine my carrot juice with
one of the following: alfalfa sprouts, spinach, romaine lettuce, broccoli
(stems, not florets), brussel sprouts, ginger/apple, just about anything!

Ingredients:
1 large carrot, shredded (about 3/4 cup)
1 cup water
1 can (8 oz., 227 g) crushed pineapple in juice
1/2 cup crushed ice (or 1 cup whole ice cubes)
In a blender at medium speed blend carrots and water for about 1 minute. Strain through a fine sieve or clean kitchen towel and return liquid to blender. Add pineapple (along with juice) and ice and blend at medium speed until smooth.

Blend together 2 pounds carrots with 6 cups of water.
Strain to remove all the pulp (it's best to use cheese-cloth along with the strainer)
Add to the retained liquid 1/2 tsp each cinnamon and nutmeg.
Sweeten to taste with sweetened condensed milk.
Add 1 cup stout or 1/4 cup rum if desired.
Chill and serve over ice.

Mix it with orange juice. It's somewhat traditional.. Why, don't know. Or just carrot juice with a little olive oil.
