There is a religious right, there is a secular left, and yes there is even religious left, but is there a secular or atheist right? It seems the Atheists battle the Christians and the liberals take on the Conservitives but I am just curious if there is an Athiest right and what would they stand for.

Yes, the Randroids, they have another name, but I can't remember the polite one. They are atheists and they are conservative -- in the real old sense, none I have known are social conservatives, but they are economic conservatives -- where it actually counts. Social conservatism is just a modern cult, it will go away, this is America. I can't remember their name, its not the rationalists In any event, they are the followers of Ayn Rand. -- Objectivists. That's what they are called.

Yeah, atheist is not synonymous with liberal. Objectivists, for example, are very right-leaning (though they are often lumped in with libertarianism), and they are atheists. Secularism does not belong to a particular ideology since it's merely the idea that state and religion should be separate, and anyone can subscribe to that. What do you atheist conservatives stand for? Anything that's conservative, except presumedly things that involve religion. They would probably believe in fiscal freedom, could possibly be more hawkish and interventionist in foreign affairs, and lower taxes, to point out a few examples.

There are atheists all across the political spectrum. For example, there's a regular R&S poster, bc_munkee, who has described himself as an atheist and a registered Republican. I'm more of a libertarian myself, and I'm acquainted with several liberal atheists.

Atheism means not believing in a god or gods. It has nothing to do with political positions.

not really sure... is there an atheist left? how could you differentiate between the two? is one republican and the other democrat? I think an Atheist is an atheist and it doesn't really matter..personally i don't believe in the judeo-christian single GOD ideal...and i also think that needing a title like atheist is queer as a non-alchoholic beer (sorry that was really redneck of you)I'd rather be called a hell bent anti-flanders heathen...AMEN......

Athiset right, don't know, but i would like to see a conservitive right without religion messing it up.

don't misunderstand i have a faith in god, i just think it has no place in a multicultural society.

its not Jesus or God i don't believe in, it's thier followers that scare me to death.

I don't see how their could be... since the Right is comprized of so many religios zealots and most of their "values" come from Judeo-Christian belief structures.

Given the fact atheists only have one doctrine, it would be hard to have much division.

Atheism, the only logical choice.
