I have visited Hollywood, California a few times and lived in Hollywood, Florida for a few years.

Yes, I lived in Los Angeles for twenty years. Any time that friends came to visit me they always wanted to go to Hollywood.
They were always disappointed in seeing winos on the street instead of movies stars, and porno shops instead of movie studios.
So then I'd have to take them to Culver City, Studio City, and even Universal Studios.
Hollywood is okay if you go not expecting much - go to see the stars on the sidewalks, or the Chinese Theater - just forget it being anything like the masses imagine "hollywood" to be. It's not.

.back in the late 70s' i traveled the country and i got to Hollywood.
all i can say is it is a reflection of TV and movie magic.
