If you mean fundamentalist Muslims and fundamentalist Christians, then:

Other than the different theologies and customs, they are very similar.

Both expressions of faith require absolute obedience to the religious leader, without thought.

Both require that the intellect be left behind when profession of faith is made.

Both require that the free will of each member be bound over to the religious leader.

Both are capable of extreme violence whenever the religious leader calls for it.

Both are capable of crimes against humanity in "defense" of their respective faiths.

On the superficial level, they're quite different.
On every other level they're clones!

Muslims, Christians, and Jews, all believe in the same God. They all believe that the old testament is a holy book, and that men like Moses and David were messengers of God. The Koran and the New Testament are very similar in tone and in what is taught, (side by side, it is sometimes hard to tell from which book a passage originated). Muslims believe that Jesus was a holy prophet, only not the son of God. As taught in the Koran, Jews and Christians are people of the book, and to be respected.

Note to Chapelete, (and others). Quite simply, you are wrong. I took religious studies for two years in university, have read the Koran, Torahs, the Way and its Power, the Tipitaka, etc. The Muslim God, is the Christian God, is the God of Abraham.
While reading the Koran, what struck me as most profound, was how very similar it is to the Christian bible. There is nothing in the Koran about 'world domination', or subjugation of women, or violence in the name of God. It is actually a profound work, that teaches love and tolerance, (a common thread through most major religions). The men who twist these teachings in Islam, are no different then the men who use the bible to justify evil deeds. The conflicts emerging in the world now between cultures have nothing to do with the teachings of Jesus or Mohammed, but are power struggles between rich and evil men, who use religion to manipulate the soldier in the field, something that has been happening for thousands of years. The only way you can truly understand the world around you, is to embrace it with an open mind, and an accepting heart. Do that, and you and those around you will be the better for it.

There are more differences between them than similarities.

The only real similarities are that both believe the fundamentals of their faith. Muslim fundamentalists follow closely the Q'uran and its teachings, of which jihad is a vital part.

Christian fundamentalists follow closely the Bible and its teachings, especially as revealed in the New Testament.

Because the two books are so diametrically opposed in content, that is why you see Muslim fundamentalists promoting jihad throughout the world. Fundamentalist Christians promote the Good News instead.

NOTE TO A K: Don is right. Muslims (and others) want you to believe they are the same God, but different concepts. Yet, a core Muslim confession is: "Allah does not have any associate or partner, and He does not beget nor was He begotten." Thus, the Father of Jesus is not the god of Muhammad. They are different in substance.

Good question. I am a Christian and I have Muslim friends. I believe fundamentalists are the same, no matter what religion they follow.

Fundamentalists believe they are right and everyone else is wrong. There is no room to question, no room for doubt.

Fundamentalists believe that everyone is out to get them - that their way of life is threatened and that they must do everything they can to protect it.

Fundamentalists believe the problems of the world are caused by other people, not themselves. They will also be the first to point to God as the cause of natural disasters as proof of God's wrath and punishment. (Fred Phelps blamed Hurricane Katrina on the gays in New Orleans; Osama bin Laden blamed Katrina on US policy in the Middle East / Iraq)

Fundamentalists believe in revenge and they believe in fighting to defend their beliefs. More importantly, because they view themselves as on God's side, anything bad that happens to others is God's vengeance.

Fundamentalists believe in strict interpretations of their scriptures. They also often follow charismatic leaders who have often made "prophet"-like statements about themselves, or at least tie their authority to God.

Fundamentalists have a passion for recruiting young people - easier to brainwash, more likely to fight.

Most importantly, fundamentalists are about control. They will use the political system if they can, but more often see themselves as above the political system of the land they are in. They often create very strict rules that control their own communities (examples: FLDS Mormons, Taliban, Puritan Christians of the 1600's, modern Iran). They are very likely to support harsh punishment including the death penalty and they do not tolerate social deviance. Everything they do politically is bent on controlling people's behavior and securing allegiance to the cause.

Yes, I see no difference between fundamentalist Christians and fundamentalist Muslims.

The similarity is that each and each and every believes that the ego/suggestions can parent reality. What i believe is authentic because i believe it. we are religious beings and our authentic nature is such that when we placed our interest upon some thing we comprehend it intuitively and instantly. when we are sure to the ego/suggestions we nevertheless have that experience of being in spite of the indisputable fact that it truly is authorized to the incorrect self, the pretend self, the ego/suggestions that imagines that what it sees and feels and is conscious through the senses is the reality. reality is the unseen skill and Substance upon which the dream rests. it truly is countless and only what's countless can understand or comprehend it. The senses are given us to attraction to close the international of sort, the finite realm of appearances and mortal journey. The introduction is right here to precise God's Glory and we are right here to witness that Glory and thrill in it. instead we struggle through in it because we ignore our authentic nature and change into sure by technique of the delusion. Why is it that the saints journey Bliss even contained in the face of their suffering for mankind? So there is the similarity. They each and each and every believe they see the international aright because they mistake sensations for realities and the unseen as unreal. those suggestions lead fundamentalists to imagine that God is a few being sitting in an antiseptic nook of area. If God isn't got here upon the position He abides he received't be got here upon in any respect. Atheists are maximum ideal that that God they say does no longer exist does no longer exist and Fundamentalists are incorrect in putting forward that the God they say exists, exists. And yet, God Is.
