Okay don't listen to 1/2 the answers. To maitain weight eat around 1500-2000 cal. per day. To lose weight eat 1200-1500. It depends on you exersize lvl also. if you eat 2000 cal. per day and jsut lay around you will end up gaining weight. and vise-vera for every thing else. Hope i helped good luck!

Women, to maintain weight, should aim for about 2000 calories and men for about 2700 calories, assuming normal activity levels.

To loose weight, you would obviously aim for less and if you are extremely physically active, you'd aim for more. It would be dangerous to aim for less than 1200 calories per day, because it would be difficult to get the needed protein and vitamins at such low calorie levels.

oh you are suppose to be at 1800 calories a day...but you might need to gradually get to that point as you are a bit overweight.
