how do i pressure cook with out a pressure cooker?

You can't pressure cook anything safely without an actual pressure cooker. Don't try it. A pressure cooker has a special tight-clamping lid that allows pressure to build up in the pot as the steam accumulates. It cooks food faster because water boils at a higher temperature in the high pressure environment inside the cooker.

If you try to make something that works like a pressure cooker but doesn't have its safety features, you wll be making something that will explode when the steam pressure gets strong enough. Don't do this.

If you just want potatoes and carrots to cook faster, try putting them in the microwave for a few minutes while the water in your regular stovetop pan starts heating. You'll give them a bit of a head start without heating up the kitchen.

You need a heavy large pot like a stainless steel 6 to 8 quart pan with a tight fitting lid. you have to weight down the lid but be careful because a little weight is all it takes and that weight controls the pressure in the pot don't forget the water.

its so simple u fool take a beaker put some water then put ur veggies place a plate upon it wait 4 like say 15-20mins and ur veggies r cooked.
