It is God’s will that we develop an attitude of meekness towards others. Meekness is one of the fruits of the Spirit and is an outgrowth of love and concern for the welfare of other people. Jesus exhibited a spirit of love, gentleness and meekness towards all mankind, setting us an example to follow. Make it a part of your daily prayer to ask God to help you to exhibit the fruits of the Spirit, especially the fruit of meekness. A spirit of meekness includes a spirit of love, joy, peace, friendliness, gentleness, patience, goodness, faith, and temperance and against such there is no law.

Once Jesus Christ returns and removes all wickedness from the earth at Armageddon, the righteous ones exercising faith in him and doing the will of God will survive Armageddon with protection from God, they are going to reside on the earth forever, God is giving the earth to the meek ones as an inheritance. During Christ's millennial reign, all those in their memorial tombs will come out at the resurrection, the righteous will receive life, the unrighteous receive judgment on what they do during his reign. If they learn and accept Jesus as their savior and do the will of God, they to will receive life. Then when Satan is released from the abyss for the final test, all who pass that test and remain on God's side will be blessed with eternal life on a restored paradise earth. That has always been God's purpose for mankind and the earth and it has not changed. The Scriptures say that not a word uttered forth from God's mouth will return to him without results.

Read Psalm 37 in the Bible. It has a lot to say about that.
But basically, think about who has control of the earth now.
Is it the meek? Or is it the powerful? The powerful think that they are in control and can maintain that control by their own will and efforts. The meek depend upon God and recognize that all things are His. Thus, when Jesus returns it those who trust in God, and do not seek their own power and aggrandizement who will inherit the earth.

God favors the meek(humble) ones over the proud and arrogant.
These arrogant ones will never inherit God's kingdom, for they are too proud to serve Him. The meek, however, are the ones that are spending thier time doing God's will. They seek out and help others learn about God, helping those who are weak and poor literally and spiritually, instead of selfishly wasting thier lives away. They are the ones that stop and thank God for every moment of thier lives. These are the ones that will remain forever after judgement day.

That the gentle and kind are the ones who will be rewarded with an earth of peace - this is in reference to the fact that Christ will reign for a 1000 years on earth in which there is nothing but peace.

It's a puzzle, but it's one of Jesus' teachings that our President chooses to ignore.
My interpretation has for some time been that, after humans learn how to live forever, those who are afraid of dying will be the ones left on earth.

They will not be Raptured, but will remain to endure The Great Tribulation, and when they come out of it, they will not have heavenly bodies, but will keep their own, and dwell on the earth forever. It will be a new earth. Clean, and pure.
