In a recent research it's said that less than 8 people out of a million donate organs, especially the heart. I don't know about other countries but in mine you decide by filling a form whether you would like or not to donate your organs in case of death... have you filled that form? would you donate your organs?

Yes I certainly would donate my organs for transplant. In fact, eight years ago my youngest child died tragically at the age of 12, and we donated his organs for transplant. Four other children lived because of the donation, which has been a great source of comfort to my family.

Why not allow other people to use them, after all they are no good to you anymore, If someone had been able to save my son with an organ donation, I would have been so so grateful for the gift.

Many people do not agree to doing so out of a number of fears.
I agree tho that it is an individual choice, and one which the individual has to feel comfortable about.

It would be great if people thought more about it in order to make a calculated decision, and to seek relevant advice.

When I die, I have already requested that all of my usable organs will be donated.

The reason I am donating my organs is because I feel that if I am no longer in need of them, there are many good people out there who deserve a chance to do wonderful things. My body is just a shell that I use to survive and as my body biodegrades, it is going to help continue the circle of life anyways. Why not use my organs to possibly save a member of the human race who may possibly learn the value of life and do something wonderful for humanity?

I would absolutly donate my organs. The reason being is because there will be no use for me to have them once I'm gone, right? So, why not give another person the chance to live? I have the "donate" sticker on my DL and so does my spouse. If anything happened to him, I would be honered to save someone's life with the person whom I love.

i'm not a organ donor because i comprehend in the destiny i am going to die. i'm petrified of that actuality. and that i do not choose an post-mortem, a lot less have my organs taken out. i think like the human body is an awesome element, and that i don't believe of it should be reduce up in post-mortem. yet i do not care if different ppl donate. There defently should not be a regulation were you won't be able to Bq; defently wouldnt do it.

I would love to just to be able to help someone else after I die. I just have this question that I can't seem to get rid of. If they take your organs, don't they want them before they shut down? Which means they would have to take them before you are truly dead. What is there is a chance of me coming back from say a vegetative state. That is the only reason I haven't filled out that form on my driver's license.

I used to think no because Ididn't like the idea of people handling my body after death. But now I would because I watched that special on Holby City and it made me realise it is kind of selfish to let something be burried that your not using anymore. Both of my grandads died and I believ that their organs could have made a difference. But I would only offer my own body. I haven't fillied the form in yet. But I will.

A resounding "YES!" in response! Many of us in health care professions, particularly those who work in critical care areas, know that countless lives could be saved almost immediately through simple changes in legislation that "assume a 'YES' response unless otherwise stated".
This would require only those who specifically DON'T want their organs donated to go through the process of signing a form. It would also relieve the additional pain and stress placed on countless family members who are already suffering with the grief of dealing with their loved ones' tragedy.
Most of us reside somewhere in the 'state of denial' or at least 'avoidance' when it comes to reflecting on our own mortality. Consultation and reflection on this important issue has its own maturing benefits on us, both as individuals and as communities.

I am going to donate any usable organs when I pass on. It's truly a blessing to help a fellow human being with a better life.

Make sure your next of kin is aware of your wishes as that individual can elect to not have it done.

The reason organs must be harvested asap is that when oxygen is depleted, the organs begin to die. When a family is grief-stricken, they may not realize how quickly time passes. Hospital staff is very conscientious as to the family of one who is on the verge of dying.

I am an organ donor. I have signed the back of my drivers license in the US. Why WOULDN'T someone donate their organs? What purpose will they serve after you die? If someone lives a bit longer because of something I gave them, then I am for it.
