You dont need to do anything to keep it curly ......

after all its a PERM....as in PERMANENT

If the perm has been done professionally then it wont make a difference. It will however drop slightly within the first 2 weeks, this is normal and happens to every perm, but after the 2 weeks that will be the amount of curl you have untill it grows out.

just pop some smoothing cream through it (Wella Shockwaves do a good one)

And scrunch it into your hair

do people still perm their hair? When I was 10 my mom did this home perm and it burned and after 2 hours I cried and cried because I wanted it off my head. Now, 16 years later, I have super curly hair- go figure! As for sleeping with rollers- I say no... if you get a good perm it should hold without sleeping with rollers... imagine how uncomfortable....

I have very straight, fine hair, and in January I got a spiral perm with very small rods. I love, love, love it! I did try sleeping in spiral, twisty rollups a couple of times after I got my perm, but it was a big hassle with little noticeable difference. Now, I just use a curling lotion after shampooing to extend the life of my perm (I've heard a curling shampoo works well too); then sometimes I just scrunch, and other times, I curl with a very small barrel curling iron. I can also do a little of both--scrunch and just curl a few pieces here and there to get a nice look. If I want to blow dry, I use a diffuser.

It's 6 months later, and I'm still getting a nice wavy look without curlers or a curling iron and a nice spiral curl with a curling iron.

i have curly / wavy hair so i got a japanese straightening perm done since 4th grade (im going to 9th grade this fall)
i get it done twice a year and inbetween i use hair straightners
people say it damages your hair but if you spend a bit of extra money and go to a good professional salon, you'll be fine

Wrap it the first day and then the following days, you grease the scalp and then put rods or rollers in it, then spray some moisturizer in it.
