I was told that another tsunami is anticipated by the experts in the nearby future and could happen any time. I was told to stay away from the beach. If this would be true, people should know!

Tsunami's can absolutely NOT be predicted. You cannot predict an earthquake. You can tell whether or not there is activity at a plate boundary or hot zone, but there is NO way to tell what the severity will be or the exact location.

So does that means you will stay away from the beach all your life for fear of another tsunami? Nature is so unpredictable, when it happens it will happen. No human can stop it. However, it is the early warning system in place that need to be heeded and awareness what you should do in event the alarm goes off. If you are prepared you will be fine. The last tsunami had many casualties because no one understand the signs and knew what to do.

So if you are prepared, then you can enjoy your holiday anywhere you like.

Maybe, but we can't predict nature. I was told there is going to be a Tsunami this year but I hope not.

Depends on your source, if it was just speculation from a friend, then it's unlikely. There are now warning systems in place in a lot of weather monitoring agencies. They would be the people to check with.
