It's a bad counter because it plays on a number of different misunderstandings...
Firstly, the overwhelming majority of religious people who disbelieve evolution usually cannot express what the theory says. They will say something about "random chance" and "impossible odds" and then congratulate themselves on being so scientifically-minded. However, they were taught "preacher's evolution," not real evolution, and so they make absurd statements like "I've never seen a banana turn into a goat" or "there are still apes so that disproves evolution." Statements like this, aside from having nothing to do with the actual theory, only display the ignorance of the person who utters them.
I can understand having disagreements with evolution. Many scientists have. There are multiple other theories that (for a while) were competing with evolution (Neo-Lamarkism, Steady-state theory, etc..). But the past century of evidence has eliminated these other theories, leaving evolution standing.
So, to answer your question: there's nothing wrong with the logic of the statement. But it assumes evolution is a linear process -- and it is not. Therefore the statement, whether logical or not, is actually just irrelevant.

I have never understood why some people insist that the theory of evolution is false either. Evolution is a very slow process, with each species developing slight changes or mutations along the way until they are different enough from the original to be declaired a seperate species; usually when mating between the new creatures and the older species is no longer viable. I believe that a creator god or goddess did get the ball rolling, but has had a very hands-off approach since then, allowing evolution to do it's own thing. Besides if there was/is a creator, then aren't the laws of science, including evolution, one of his/her creations as well?!

You asked: "do you get this line of logic? Religionist says, 'evolution is hooee because there are still apes'?"
You are mistaken in labeling that as 'logic'. It is not. These people would not recognize 'logic' if it walked up and bit them on the a**. It does not even represent an original thought... it is merely a slogan. They are regurgitating what they have heard from the pulpit, TBN, or at a 'Christian Fellowship' (brainwashing) session, or such.
It is just an illustrative example that demonstrates the profound ignorance of some segments in our society with regard to basic science education.
It is a sad fact that the people who show up on Jay Leno's "Jay Walkers" segment represent a true cross-section of the state of knowledge and critical thinking in the USA.

Religion is a creation that is spurned from the Bible. But, the different factions come from man. How do we know which religion is the true religion of God? Well, I can tell you if you go to a church - it must teach you directly out of the Bible and make it neccessary for yo uto read the Bible too. Those tow things will allow you to grow in a way that is different from the Catholic church (for example). In reading and studying the Bible you will come to an understanding of who God is - you will be able to understand His great plan for your life. The Bible is God's personal love letter just to you. He wants to have a personal relationship only with you and no other way. A church will bring you in contact with other people who will help you in knowing God and His great plan.
Now onto evolution - if evolution is what people believe then essentially there is no God and therefore there is none of the following.
Good and Evil
God or Satan
Jesus Christ
Angels or Demons
Heaven or Hell
What has to happen in either realm is one has to be disproven or have so many holes that it cannot be explained.

It is bs. Apes and humans came from a common ancestor. There are apes because the different isolated groups of these ancestors lived in different conditions. That means the different mutations were favorable in some environments, and other mutations are favorable in others. That lead to diversity. The religions try to use science or logic to disprove evolution, but it does not work because science and logic are anti religion. Your question is one example of why their scientific explanations don't work, they are too ridiculous or can be reversed.

The apes of today are not the apes of ancient times.
Religion doesn't believe in Evolution because it basically says God doesn't exist because Religion looks at man as the superior being, but if something existed before man then obvously God did not exist...well Dinosaurs existed before man. Ape existed before man, turtles existed before man. However the only thing i can imagine Evolution being helped in the favor of Creationism if they want to find a way to work together is:
Neanderthals were around the time of Cro-magnon man...but if We evolved from Neanderthals, then how is that possible? Creationists can simply put in that God created us through that missing link.

I think I see what you are saying. I have a better reason for not believing in macro-evolution. I was homeschooled up until last year and I had an excellent science curriculum by Dr. Jay L. Wile. In these curriculums he went over the subject of evolution and how science over the years has actually brought to earth some really strong evidence against it. Even Darwin himself, while he was coming up with his theory, admitted that there was too much evidence against it that there was hardly any chance it was correct. And over the years that evidence has grown to gigantic proportions. Moreover, the vast majority of scientists don't believe in evolution, and those who want to make us think it is fact struggle to come up with theories to explain away all the problems with it, and these attempts are very poor indeed.

So, are you one of the athiests that's searching but are too embarrassed to just come out and say it, or one of the athiests that just enjoys harrassing christians? Since you're hanging out in the religious section, it's one or the other. You might wanna try a different tactic, since most of us never said anything about evolution not being true because there are still apes. Maybe one person said it, but hey, believe it or not, there's not just one mind-set here. I believe in evolution, just not the ape to human one, and quite honestly, since its not proven fact, and you athiests are so into science and proven fact, why would you simply believe a lame theory without any scientific proof? Oh yeah, cause you want to try to "change us", or you want us to convert you. Sorry, not interested in converting you, not my problem. Why don't you hang out in the science section?

People who ask those types of questions simply have no concept whatsoever what evolution is, but since Dr. Dino tells them it's from the devil, they mindlessly spread the types of deception he promotes.
There is nothing in evolutionary theory that prevents a new species from evolving in parallel without wiping out the species it evolved from, and in general, that's what happens.

Followers of Christ (Christianity) adjoins in with Judaism my friend - right at the hip.
As for other regions; some are man-made - BUT the ancient ones are created from Fallen Angels who set themselves up as deities, teaching man to worship them for whatever attributes they displayed. Baal, Molech, Beelzebub and so forth.
You wont accept that - but its the truth. Angels are sons of God, the fallen are allied with Satan, the very one who serves as your father -as he is the father of all unbelievers.
