You can also try tulip style roman shades if the wood blinds don't work out for you.

I have a bay window. I have sheers and a scarf up that you can't see through in the day time. At night when the light is on, you can see through. It is on the back side of my house and I don't mind it being see through. In my neighborhood, you can see through most everyones dining room or living room window on the front of the house.

Good Luck

i have a bay window in my bedroom and had the same dilemma. i didn't want to ruin the beauty of the window but wanted privacy. i have separate vertical blinds in each window and a scarf window treatment. i found it works well. i just open the shades in the morning and keep them open all day. try to have you furniture display the window also. it helps a lot. with all the new sorts of blinds there are i'm sure you can find more appealing blinds for your home then vertical blinds.

Picture this... vertical or horizontal blinds, installed on each window, seperately. This would allow you to hide your inside from the outside and your view from the inside still shows a bay window.

Good Luck

I would use roman blinds with curtains. Check out www.restorationhardware .com for colors and patterns. Then check out your local home depot www.homedepot.com or Lowes www.lowes.com for the blinds. You can order them custom from the website!
We got all our blinds from home depot they are reasonably priced and look great. We did have them professionally installed. But you need to get the inspiration from the expensive sites!

Try some white sheers, with rods at the top and bottom. It covers the window, allows the light in, and gives you a nice place to read.
