I answered another similar question that you asked, and here it is, in case you’re not checking on the other one…
If you are already ill, health insurance will be more expensive – though that might not be true if you have not yet been treated for your medical condition. If you’re interested in health insurance, you should probably talk with local health insurance agents (link below). Here are a few quick thoughts. I’ve included links in the “Sources” section.
6.Free clinics or county health departments. You might have to pay, but it will be much less than if you go to the emergency room.
7.Other state-sponsored insurance programs
8.Organizations that sponsor people with your condition. I’ve linked below to Needy Meds. Just look up your condition and see if they have links to support groups.
9.Health insurance through work: if you have been insured within the last two months on a group health plan, such as one through work, then a new group health plan would have to accept you even with your medical condition. Also, group health insurance is cheaper.
10.State-licensed agents: they can probably let you know about your possibilities of getting and affording private health insurance in about five minutes. Some companies are tailoring health plans to people in their late teens and twenties. Blue Cross Blue Shield, for example, has a Tonik line of health plans starting at around $60 that includes preventive exams, dental, and vision care.
Good luck, and don’t delay in getting help.

I have great health Insurance for me and my wife, its about $60 a month, go private all those work plans are usually a rip off and avoid HMO's, there are lots of local health insurance brokers in your area, talk to your car insurance broker and see who they recommend, then tailor a plan right for you, don't buy insurance you don't need, if you have a pre-existing condition, make sure its covered, if you only need it for check-ups, dentistry and emergencies only buy a plan that covers those three things, the point is that shopping for insurance requires a balance of what you do need and what you might need. The less you go to the doctor the less you pay. Good Luck Hope this helps,
I couldn't e-mail you back so here goes i had blue cross blue sheild at work, while going over my policies with my State Farm agent (CAR and Renters Insurance) I mentioned my medical policy at work, his immediate response was don't change it, I however pushed the issue and had him take a look at my policy, together we discovered that I was paying $92 a month for virtually no coverage other than once a year doctor visits. He then turned me on to a Cobra plan, I tailored my insurance to my specific needs, then went back to HR at work and negotiated an accident and injury plan through a company similar to AFLAC (basically it refunds my co-pays for ER and Dr. visits) My cobra plan covers me and my wife for about $62 a month and my A & I through work costs about $6 a month for a grand total of $68 a month. The younger you are the cheaper it will be. Talk to your insurance agent as this may not be the right option for you.

insurance does cost money, you should be able to get something through our employer that is discounted and taken directly from your pay check.
If not you can set up an individual acount with someone like mvp or blue cross. But its expensive.
This is a major problem in our nation and our leaders are doing something to fix it... maybe. some day. we hope.
