I am interested in learning chinese and need to find some useful sites. Hopefully a site that is free...lol.

But, please do not say "Google" for it, cause we all can do that for a question.

On the other hand I will love to be told of a site that do online pronuction and probably show how to draw some symbols.

I know of some good software to purchase, so I just need great websites.

My interest in this is mainly because I will love to know a little of chinese by time the 2008 Olympics is here etc. and for a broader knowledge of languages other than English.

basically and most important in chinese are the inflections on each word. these distinct sounds separate different words and can make the same pinyin words sounds completely different.

Learning Chinese online is best after first going to China I recommend this site http://www.1monthchinese.com, I know teachers there and they say it helps people to start in China first.
