I live in MA and so does most of my family but my fiance is from MI and that is where his family is. So I wouldnt mind getting married in either state. In MA the site would need to be in southern MA near Taunton, New Bedford, Halifax, etc. It dosent matter where in MI, though it would be nice if it was close to Flint or Lapeer. If we have it in MA more people would come so it would probally be close to 50 people attending but if in MI not as many could travel there so it would be about 15 people attending.

Hey Crystal, 1st off, congratulations. 2nd, me and my fiance' have been searching for places also, and have found out that Community Centers owned by local and city parks have better prices than the actual "wedding reception" places..They are just as nice, usually with a gazebo and/or water area but cost substantially less..We're also checking in to various VFW Halls and those types of places, which also run cheaper than others. Just have to do some research and not jump until you and him find the place "you two" want and can afford. Good luck and God bless..

I don't know about in those states. I live in NY and got married in a gazebo near the water the town only charged us $50 to book it for the day so something similar might work for you. Hope this helps a little.

You can have a wedding anywhere from your own backyard, to a country club you rent, or as many I know have done (which is so beautiful and romantic) at a historical home in your community. Many of them can be rented out for a day, and are beautifully decorated with Victorian furnishings.

Ultimately, it just depends on your personalities... and what would make both of you happy.

in the park, pay some homeless guy $2 to be the priest, another homeless guy $2 to play "here comes the bride" on tin cans. don't worry about chairs, they can all sit on the ground.
as for catering, you can probably spare a whopping $47 for mcdonalds for all your delighted guests.
is $51 too much to ask for a divine day of splendor and extravagance?

Check with the public parks, sometimes they are free, but it is a first come first serve basis.
