well it depends on your last wish if you wish to be reborn again you will. and it also depends on your karma. if you go on doing good deeds and meditation all your life and have great belief in god then you may get out of the life and death affair and get salvation from there you ultimately reach to god himself. but getting salvation is not easy.

When you die, that's it! Nothing. At the time of death most people are comatose as the organs shut down one by one. Your senses start to fail with smell, taste, touch and sight going first and hearing last. It is estimated that hearing continues for about four minutes after clinical death so it would be possible to still hear what was going on after death. However as lack of oxygen to the brain would cause brain damage giving the feeling of insanity after about two minutes you wouldn't understand what was being said anyway. The concept of life after death was invented to reassure ourselves that we can still exist after death and thus not be afraid of it. It is also a tool to recruit people into various religions with promises that after death there will be some sort of heaven or paradise awaiting us. As we are only animals like any other, but of higher intelligence, it is hard to imagine that every living thing that preceded us would, somehow, be crammed into heaven. Anyway, who would want to go there? It'll be full of catholics!

Yes, there is Life after Death, this is promised by God, and He never break His Promise...

Say: 'Death, from which you are fleeing, will certainly catch up with you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the Unseen and the Visible and He will inform you about what you did.'
Qur'an (Surat al-Jumu'ah: 8)

...He (the denier) reflected and he schemed. Curse him, how he schemed! Again curse him, how he schemed! Then he looked. Then he frowned and glowered. Then he drew back and was proud. He said, 'This is nothing but magic from the past. This is nothing but the words of a mere mortal!' I will roast him in the Fire. What will convey to you what the Fire is? It does not spare anyone and it does not ease up, ceaselessly scorching the flesh. Qur'an (Surat al-Muddaththir: 18-29)

Race each other to forgiveness from your Lord, and a Garden [i.e., Paradise] as wide as the heavens and Earth, prepared for those who do their duty.
Qur'an (Surah Al 'Imran, 133)

Religion sells the belief that you get a second chance to live your life again. They don't want people to realize that without the human body that you leave behind for the undertaker, you can't eat, drink or do any of the things that you love to do. But they collect $95 billion in annual donations and when you die, they know that you can't come back and complain that they made it all up. When Pope John Paul was shot, he knew that there were 50 Cardinals waiting to take his place, but instead of going to heaven and it's so-called rewards, he said, "Forget that religious crap and get me a Doctor, fast!" Death is final, like it or not.

What happens after death? You sleep in the grave, Hades,(hell) till Jesus comes back to get you. See 1 Thess. 4:16-17. Eccl. 9:5-6
AS it says in Eccl. you sleep, no more love, hatred, envy and you have nothing more to do with anything in this life so no haunting spirits that roam the earth. When Jesus comes back to gather His people, that is when the life after death occurs and you will never die again unless you come up at the second resurrection. Then you will die in the fire of Hell. There is life after death. What happens depends on what decisions you make while you're still alive. The most important decision is Jesus Christ. The Bible says "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved." Being a good person isn't enough.

according to my 8th grade science teacher, anything is possible if you apply your mind
in this case, you want to know what is after death, death or life?
my teacher would say that you should take some time off to think , then retreat to a place where you can dream and let your mind show you everything you have been thinking about, logic and imagination are the most powerful tools a human has, use them to find out

What is death, but a transformation? if all life source is energy, including spiritual life...and energy never dies, life is continuous. how it looks for our soul energy exactly after our physical bodies are done, is a question of beliefs. is it in searching and asking spirit, which resides within each of us, for the answer to bring inner peace, and take away the fears of death that interfere with living life in the present.

I believe there is. Get some books on near death experiences and anything channeled from those in that realm. I can assure you that the religions of the mid-east have LITTLE knowledge of the reality of what happens when you leave physical form.

You r making another womb perfect for your next birth by doing your pure and impure did's. Just like some insects make cocoon for themselves. eg. Caterpillar converts to butterfly.Death is just a transition in eternal life. You are following ur heart or brain and your brain is following your religion and beliefs, by doing good and bad did's you are actually working on your next birth. You 'll get what u deserve. Your all wishes will full filled but it will take only time, It (LIFE) is a eternal journey. Best of luck.

After death, your soul - the real you - will go either to heaven or to hell. There is one thing that you do on earth do decide where you go. If you believe that Jesus Christ is God, ask Him to forgive your sins, and put all your faith in Him, then you will go to heaven and live with Him forever. However, if you ignore and reject Him, you will go to Hell and be tortured in eternal fire.
Make your choice now, because you may not have a tomorrow.
