The guy above had it half right...Learn to play "advantage" video poker....the suggestion to play a Black Jack slot machine is bad advice, BJ machines only pay even money on all Black jacks not the true payoff of 1 1/2 to 1...

There are video poker games that pay back over 100% ...For a list of games in your area check the yahoo group site vpfree.LV has a lot of great VP some areas don't it all depends on the competition in your area. The VpFree web site it a great one, for finding the best VP anywhere.

For some computer software to practice on, my first choice is Bob Dancers "Win Poker" is has all of the VP games you might want to learn and the software will teach you as you play...WP is available at >www.lasvegasadvisor.com<

Casinos bring in most of their money from people playing slots. There is absolutely no way to determine what machine will hit and when. You have a much better chance of winning at blackjack, or better yet, sit at a poker table, where you are not playing against the house. It is very difficult to become rich on slot machines! That is so far and few between that it's impossible to figure out!

If you want to win I suggest you play slots with card games like blackjack or poker. They (depending on your local laws) must use real life odds (at least in Vegas) for any slot games with cards involved.

The only other strategy is to pick the machines that are worth playing. I suggest you read the advice in the link below before going. It is very informative and may give you some ideas of how to spot a casino slot worth playing.

Play the one closest to the door or one setting out slightly from the others so you would naturally notice it first. Casino's are trying to get you hooked so you stay longer so they set the first machine you are likely to see for a higher payout. Last time I was in Vegas I walked in put 50 cents in the one closest to the door, won 50 dollars, cashed in the quarters and moved on to the next casino immediately. Didn't win big but did pay for my trip in this manner.

My advice is to play online. The slots pay out higher, up to 98% and verified by third party auditing firms.

Play a machine someone else just gave up on. It's all chance.

Don't stay at a machine that doesn't keep you fairly even. Keep moving until you find one that at least keeps you close to even. I don't feed a machine anymore than 4 times and if it's not giving me enough to be close to even I move on. Seems to work for me.
