Hia m8y, my mate has done 2 tours in Iraq, and he is due to go to Afghanistan this year. ( he voluteered to go ! )
The best present you can give him, is to be a true friend & be there for him, he might hold in his emotions and not want to talk about what he has seen out there & experienced.
Tell him he can open up to you & you will listen to everything he wants to get of his chest. 1 of my other mates left the Parachute regiment coz of what had happened to him in Iraq, he bottled it all up inside & lost the plot
So tell your mate you will always be there for him & he can talk to you anytime Day or Night. x
P.S your only young babe so what he will tell you might upset you a little, it upset me. it wont be nice what he says but with your mums support i know you will be a great listener for him. Goodlook M8Y. x

Wait until a day after the party.
Take him for a long walk somewhere peaceful with lots of trees/fields.
Then ask him to go to his house and wait one hour before coming to your house.
Dress up (nice underwear - what ever he will really like) for him and answer the door like that - present him with his favourite meal and then just let the night progress.
The reason I have suggested a walk is Iraq is very dry and what most soliders miss about UK is the green fields.

Make him a video of all his friends welcoming him home and a card just from you. Also put some stuff on the tape that he has missed while he was away, like did someone have a baby that he knew, how did his favorite sports team do if bad don't include, stuff like that, and also get some big boobed girls to flash the camcorder they don't have to show faces just whats under shirt so they cant be recognized. Good luck.

A psychiatric visit. Many vets returning from Iraq are so traumatized by what they've seen and done that they can't cope with returning to normal life, where cars don't randomly explode, and every stranger isn't a potential enemy. Be prepared for some strange behavior on his part.
And to those picking on her grammar: she's British, geniuses. They talk differently.

That was much better, however, just leave the a out of Present. Present him with a present, or how about a Peasant. Just wait, you'll find out just what he needs, or wants etc.
Ay ope yu cn elp im out.

I came home to England from Baghdad about a year ago. It was hell. Best thing you can do is treat him with a lot of TLC. He will be disorientated and confused. He will not be the same guy as when he left. Be patient and be considerate. That will be the best present!

Impress him with your new-found command of the English language after taking an intensive course over the next few weeks.

Some more information would help. You could take him out for a night on the town on you, dinner, maybe. I think something that is not only a gift but something very memorable....

Give him time. Give him love and understanding.
Yes Guelph she is British, but she only speaks different because she speaks the English language.
