No, I am defiantly not too cheap to take my dogs/cats to the vet when they are sick. It seems that every other week my tom cat has some sort of life threatening illness that seeks vet services. I have a choc. lab that goes in regularly as she has fake hips and my SAR dog, a 1 1/2 year old German Shepherd goes in for check-ups once a month. I am not to cheap to take care of my defender, my friend, my dog, my partner...

I have a pet emergency fund of $10,000 in case I have to take my dog (who I don't even have yet) to the vet. I think having a dog is just like having a child. You don't have a choice to take them or not if they are hurt. You just do it without having to be told. Why people don't seem to get this blows me away. I mean it would seem obvious wouldn't it? And BTW to the person who mentioned the strays following her around, I am building my house a little larger so I can keep the strays I find until I can find them good homes. Oh and don't worry, they will be receiving excellent care just like my dog.

If you can not afford a vet,do not get a pet.If you already have a pet ask at the Vets office if you can give them so much money each month -prepay- until you have enough for a Vet visit.A lot of Vets do this, mine does.

Taking on a pet is assuming responsibility for another life. The animal only has you to rely on and if you are too cheap to care for the animal, find it another home. Neglect is abuse when they can't fin for themselves.

no. i always go to the vet if i noticed something wrong with my dogs. that's why pet insurance come in handy. the vet check them anytime you call (of course on office hours) and you will only pay the medicine if they really have something wrong with them. if the dog is ok, no more charges.

nope!

if you can't afford to take your pet to a vet..call the MSPCA or ASPCA and they usually will give you vet care for free or a discount..if it is a stray....they will pick it up..and give it free medical care and find it a good home...

good luck!
