she lays still for awhile, but then gets up and starts running around, then lays for awhile, has a small temp. we might have made a mistake in giving her a little soy milk yesterday. i am hoping that is not the reason, we have no longer given her anymore. it was a small amount.

She may be having an allergic reaction to something. My sister's dog does that but she is allergic to grass.

I really don't think it had anything to do with the soy milk (although stranger things have happened!). A sudden intense itch sounds like mites may be a possibility - although itching the chest is not a typical place for mites to start out at.
Allergies are a possibility, as is a skin infection. What does the area look like? Red, bumpy?
As far as her temp remember dogs have a higher normal temp than we do anywhere from 99.5 -102.5 is normal for them.
Try giving her a cool bath, if there are no pustules - little bumps that look like pimples - you could try some hydrocortisone cream or benadryl cream to stop the itch.
I would than say if she continues this behavior for more than a couple days, you should take her in to make sure she doesn't have mites or an infection there.

Maybe you should try to bathe her. Since she's so low to the ground she may have gotten into something to make her itch. If that don't work, I think a trip to the vet is in order.

Could be allergies, fleas, or something simple as anal glands needing to be expressed. Take her to your vet and have him/her rule out anything serious

if you have concerns..take her to the vet....
also..you might want to check out what is poisonous to animals..pets....before you give her anything else..i was surprised to see myself..what was posionous..chocolate, potatoes, etc....lots of plants...etc...
