Well, I've always heard that they change every 7 yrs. and that is the reason that your food likes/dislikes change. But, after reading these answers I decided to look it up. And I was wrong!!!
And this is what I read:

Taste buds change their preferences with age.

Thank you for teaching me something.

Your taste buds never change, but your likes and dislikes in different foods and tastes do change threw out your life.

Things I enjoyed eating when I was a kid, I don't really like now.
Things I could eat before I was pregnant, well needless to say the don't settle on my stomach now...I used to drink Mt Dew and now it makes me sick.

They diminish over your lifetime, all of us differently, in different areas of out tongues, so our palette changes over the years. For example, I can no longer tolerate tart, overly sour, or real sweet. On the other hand, I require more salt. I prefer pungeant foods like brocolli, turnips, richer breads, etc.

They gradually change as you get older. That's why a lot of older people enjoy spicy food, so they can taste it more. Different people have different taste bud "evolution" though. So it all depends.
