Any of the premium quality dog foods. California Natural, Solid Gold, Innova and Merrick are a few of the best. All the good one have a few points in common. They have meat as the first ingredient. None of them contain corn/ corn products which can trigger skin problems, allergies, dry skin, itching, excessive shedding. Nor do the contain by products which can contain cancerous tissue.

Any good quality food will be fine. If there are any problems with tolerance, switch brands. Some companies make food for specific types of dogs. Weather they are necessary is a matter of debate.
I hace done alot of research through the years in the web and there are a thousand opinions for every question. In the end, if your dog is happy and healthe, thats all that counts.

I believe the make small breed dog food the kibbles are smaller so it easier to chew. Also, if its a puppy get puupy small breed. The puppy food has extra stuff in it for puppys to grow.
