I find the classic "put lampshade over head" trick works well for avoiding aliens. The only thing you have to worry about is if the aliens try to turn the light on. Then things can get a little messy.

NEVER hide in your freezer, since Aliens love ice cream, and the freezer is normally the first place they'll go when they invade an Earth home.

Don't think you can hide. Most are supposed to be telepathic. Barring that they would have some kind of advanced sensing device, like the tricorder in Star Trek.

I always hide in my fridge. Take out the shelves and get in there. everyone knows aliens dont like chilled food and drinks so they never look in the fridge.
