There is a great book, written by a Methodist minister (one who negotiated for the hostages in Iran) called When Religion Becomes Evil. He lists five key things to watch for the first of which is "our way is the one and only way". This line of thinking promotes a fascist answer, that answer being "if you don't agree with me you have to die." Check it out. I am an agnostic.

And why say the "Christian" God? The Judeo-Christian stories of the Creation are in the Book of Genesis, which is part of the Christian Old Testament or, more correctly, the book of B'reishis in the Hebrews Tanakh. Christians take their story of Creation from the Hebrews, and the stories of the Hebrews have also influenced stories in the Islamic faith.

P.S. Christianity is a religion that is only two thousand years old; compare that to how long humans have been on this planet. It's no wonder that there are many stories older than Christian stories.

1) Because mankind likes to make up stories

2) Because man also likes to make up stories that don't hold him morally responsible or accountable, so that he can follow his own ways that he might think are right, but often lead to death and destruction

3) Correction - It is not the "Christian" God who created everything...it is the "Living God". He spoke through the Jewish people over many millenia, who preserved the writings which reveal Him to mankind. This includes the New Testament or Brit Hadash, also written primarily by Jewish people as well. This is why everyone should appreciate, respect and give honor to Jewish people and to Israel. They have bequeathed a wonderful heritage to the rest of humanity.

The Christian God is the one true God. The other myths are made up. God sent his son Jesus to us and his other prophets to set the record straight. We do things that displease God all the time, like make up stuff that isn't true. God has given us the Bible and the prophets to help us know the truth. God was lost to the people that made up the other stories.

DECEPTION;
Re 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED A FORM OF XMAS 1000s OF YEARS BEFORE CHRIST.
Jer 10:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
Jer 10:3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the ax.
Jer 10:4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
Jer 10:5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go

There can only be ONE Creator.

The Creator teaches us spiritual truths according to OUR varying levels of awareness.

The Jews were at one level of consciousness, and they were given one message.

The Moslems were at another level of consciousness and they were given ANOTHER message.

The Christians were at another level of awareness; and THEY received ANOTHER message.

Let me use the analogy of children.

If two children say a 2 year old and a 15 year old asked you "How does a car go?

You would tell the two year old something simple. You put gas in the car and go.

You would tell the 15 year old more information; you may tell this child about the internal combustion engine, rocker bearings, universal joints, transmissions, etc.

It is not insulting the two year old to provide more information (the two year old cannot understand)

The fact that different cultures were taught differently; is not an issue; The Creator MUST teach creation according to their level of understanding.

It is a misconception to call them myths. They are all simply the way diverse cultures chose to explain god in terms that were understandable to them.

It is a christian idea to think of them as myths and to see their own personal idea of God to be the one true and only.

It is not Gods idea to deny the validity of any particular way people have chosen to show their respect to him.

It's human nature to make stories up to explain things they don't understand. It doesn't mean any of them are true. It's just too many people spread the same myth around, until the actually start to believe their own made up stories.
