riend had numbness down one side he was told that it was a doi to the brain and has to see a specialist what is it i thought a stroke of somekind but i have never heaRD OF THIS

I think you should get your friend to get the doctor to confirm what he meant. I have never heard of this and I am a neurologist.

Perhaps what was said was TIA (transient ischemic attack) which is basically a kind of very short-lived stroke.

I suffer from a neurological condition myself - I'd say numbness down one side definitely sounds neurological but it is such a complicated science there could be hundreds of causes that can only be pinned down by carrying out the proper tests, ie MRI scans. The specialist should be able to help. As for a "doi to the brain" I think there has been a misinterpretation somewhere along the line because as far as I know this doesn't exist.
